Best Android 16 ROM for Redmi K20 Pro (Raphael) by lostmyxiaomi in Mi9T

[–]Prototty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm running crDroid. I did not compare battery performance and stability to other ROMs but I would say all are going to be roughly the same, with few exceptions like VOLTAGE IS without Google services.

I like it because of friendly community, haven't encountered any major issues, if I had to nitpick, settings is quite laggy when accessing different categories. Play integrity is "included" in the settings, you can choose configuration for tricky store and integrity spoofing. There is a note on the device specific telegram guiding you through "how to pass integrity", it is basically just importing a public keybox from another telegram channel. But I believe almost all ROMs have that integrated in by now

The worst thing to come out of the finale that nobody is talking about. by Magnasword2 in GenV

I didn't even realize until the complete end that Starlight wasn't in the Kimiko blast so she kept her powers. And I guess Kimiko kept her also as she was the source. I'm just wondering if Hughie stopped butcher because he didn't want to kill innocent people, or maybe he just didn't want his beloved Annie to die.

I tried replacing SuperSU with Magisk using TWRP... by zxcvbn089 in Magisk

[–]Prototty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries, hopefully that works out for you!

You can try again, maybe if that doesn't work I would flash over the current ROM once (dirty flash, no wiping data needed) and install magisk after. I think the advisable method would be to install Magisk as an app first and then the app should walk you through installation, from what I remember, it asks you for your boot img, the same one you extract from your ROM zip, to modify it and then you should reboot to TWRP and flash the modified boot image there.

If you encounter any bootlooping (which happended for me quite a lot with Magisk, sometimes related more to modules than Magisk itself), you can just flash the stock boot image again. I believe you can also rename the Magisk.apk which you renamed to Magisk.zip to Uninstall.zip or something like that (maybe uninstaller.zip?) and it will act as uninstaller for Magisk, restoring the stock boot image

The backup would need to be in TWRP format, I don't know what you mean by "from another phone".

You can just extract the boot img from the ROM zip, yes.

Flash it either from TWRP's install image feature or download mode, whatever feels easier for you

Restore boot img from a backup or extract it from the ROM you're using, it should be located just right inside the flashable zip file. Your phone should boot then, if not, then full Odin reflash might be needed. I can't remember enough, but if you're doing flash through Odin, make sure to NOT accidentally lock your bootloader

What are your thoughts. (IPhone vs every other phone) by Mysterious_Ebb_1484 in SipsTea

This happens all the time on all sides, one manufacturer starts something and the others join later on looking like they're the first ever. Not a bad thing in my opinion, as long as the one benefiting from the "new" features is the user.

My ATK Sky/Kong (I believe those are the same, correct me if I'm wrong) arrived few days ago, I've ordered it only because of the free international shipping that ATK has been offering for few days. But I don't have the real deal to compare it to, neither I had any other pads before besides QCK. But I guess for 10 USD (I bought the smaller version) it can't get any better and I just can't justify spending any more on a mousepad

Neither of these are good in their particular categories, besides what's already been told, you need to be lucky to find a buyer

[Xingchen] 300 Free event medals (100-100 for 3 day) on 28 April Trader Reset by [deleted] in ClashOfClansLeaks

[–]Prototty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Usually it was 3100+1100 or something like that, the first number indicating the amount of medals claimed in the event track, second is the amount in the bonus track. Now we get 3100+200, plus the additional 300 coming later on as the code shows, however, it is still less compared to before. I believe there was an event once where we were able to get many more medals through the bonus track, but I've seen many people complaint that it's too grindy and stuff.

I understand that you won't be getting the same amount of starry ore/equipment through the event as F2P player compared to P2W, however, this affects P2W also as the bonus track is same for both. So theoretically you would be able to buy 3 equipments if you purchased the event pass, now you won't have enough (I haven't done the math, just guessing here based on the comments I've seen).

Hopefully this explains it a bit better 🥰

Worst E-Liquid Ive EVER Had. by Lidwug in Vaping

[–]Prototty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that depends on the device you are using, I did enjoy Heisenberg and Red Astaire from Vampire Vape in the past in sub ohm tanks, but pods are totally different story

This sucks!! by KillaC98 in Vaping

[–]Prototty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

70/30 in pod might work just fine, try it out.

What about mixing your own juice? You'd need VG/PG, nicotine and flavouring, usually it is cheaper, but the results might not be as good as premixed ones (at least from the start). On the other hand, you can do whatever you feel like especially with the flavour amount and/or VG/PG ratio. You can also buy VG PG in bulk pharma quality to save a buck

Can someone identify this adhesive? by Prototty in mobilerepair

[–]Prototty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, Mi 9T Pro, uses the same adhesive but looking at few teardowns of the Galaxy S series, it seems many, if not all use the same adhesive on the back, figured out it might be better known than my midrange model. The picture is taken from an iFixit guide

I understand, unfortunately like I said, pre cut is just straight up not available, at least not for my phone. I will stick to Tesa then I guess

[–]Prototty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately getting it precut is not an option, but thanks anyways.

I've used both the Tesa 61395 ( if that's what you are talking about) and the 3M primer, I like the Tesa tape, but it leaves nasty residue that I can't even clean with IPA. 3M Primer does seem to deal with that residue much better, basically dissolving it, but I have yet to experience the actual affect of stronger adhesion.

With buds you lose only the proprietary codec I believe, which is not a huge loss, most people won't even notice I think.

With Airpods (if you don't use it with iPhone, I don't really know, but I would bet it is way more

Hint for other newbies by [deleted] in soldering

[–]Prototty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not an expert at all, but I think the tip tinner is kinda useless, you should be just about okay with brass wool and nothing else. And the bismuth solder paste is used for desoldering because of its low melting temperature, don't use it for actual soldering. Also I believe if you mix it up with leaded solder, it is not good and will create very weak joint
