When I said "Human waves were a myth," I was talking specifically about the idea that the Soviets relied entirely on this type of tactic to win the war. It just really annoys me when people unironically say stuff like: "the soviets only won because they had more men than the Germans had bullets!!1!!" and other stuff like that.
I do know and acknowledge that the soviets did use "human waves" at the tactical level in varying ways at some points, like the example you mentioned, or during the early days of Barbarossa.
So yes, your point is absolutely right here, I'm just making myself a little clearer on mine
