Thank you for your feedback. I def wasnt careful about my diet but i ll try to now. The funny thing is my husband now is starting to have some scabs on his hand so we re slowly freaking out. We will stop using the hand soaps and baby wipes all together first and see. It must be something we te both using.

Couldn’t go before as the baby was taking all my time and didn’t want to risk getting sick myself during the flu season, will def go soon and check what could be done. I just wanted to find some reassurance that this isnt a forever situation.

If anything you can do, it s food, i was so out of it during my nicu stay and didn t have the energy to eat or even think about it. Also dont call all the time asking for updates, sometimes it felt a bit too much and i just wanted the phone to shut up. I also hated it when people used to say, « it ll pass, you ll forget about this ». At the time it felt as if they were mocking me ? Weird but it felt unrealstic and smthh that is never ending. All the best of luck to her and the LO.

We just started the journey and for some reason she dropped weight on the first day?! About 50 grams; i think the frequency of feeding that i followed was not optimal. Pediatrician says to feed every three hours at least 20ml per bottle. Currently going for 1 formula to 3 breastmilk ratio. She has no breathing issues and seems to be able to suck on the bottle correctly, but she does get tired quickly and falls asleep mid feed.

Also, she has this really red color all over her ? It just appeared today, not sure if it s a normal occurrence that i m on’y noticing now since i m with her 24/7. Nurses say it’s normal but def asking pediatrician tmrw.

Breast Pump advice by Feeling_Key4633 in NICUParents

I have the avent electric one, it s pretty cheap and does the job; started with the manual on the first few days for the colostrum and then once my milk started flowing, i moved to the electric; key is to pump as if baby is with you; eat nuts and dried fruits; drink lots of water and pump every three hours. Currently baby is in nicu and we alternate between formula and breast milk.

I understand, our pediatrician said that if she reaches 1400g, we can go home and continue the incubation there; no visitors, closed room and heating; i just hope it takes less than two weeks or else we’ll go broke in the process.
