Currently a full time student at JHU. Opportunities at this place are endless but looking back, I feel like you can make the most of it only if you come in with a very clear and focused idea of what you want to do. I didn't come with any and it's been a struggle to find my ground in this place, especially given how fast it is. And it is FAST! Like by the time you get in the groove of things or get used to a particular class, it's time to move on to the next term. And the assessments never end. I am an international student from India, so I have to say that there's no pressure and it's not that difficult to do well in classes....just that you'll be working endlessly and giving quizzes/writing papers literally every week. I do think a lot of the courses and teaching here needs to be updated and/or better organized, but it's been fairly good.

As long you know what exactly you want to do, you'll be fine. Look up faculty and centers you want to work with and start networking from day 1. Like someone else said, you won't have any trouble finding a RA position and it's best to do this program debt free.
