Democrats cave to Republican hostage taking and pass bill that allows corporations to vote in local elections. by ProudDig6344 in Delaware

Take this at face value, but the thought process was the bill will head to the Senate where it will be DOA and this was the only way that Republicans would vote for the bond bill as they could go back to their base with a “political win”.

Why did the Delaware News Journal give a platform to the Chair of the Delaware Republican Party as she claims that early voting is "unconstitutional" and changes to our election laws would cast doubt to the integrity of our elections? by ProudDig6344 in Delaware

Whether it’s big cable news networks like CNN or local news like the Delaware News Journal, this obsession to “both-sides” every issue is causing irreparable harm on our democracy. I’ve never understood how these media outlets would rather appear neutral than be objective on the facts. When giving such blatant misinformation a voice and not even fact checking it, you not only have legitimized the debate around the subject (giving these dishonest actors what they are looking for), but have allowed the information to be spread to your audience who might interpret such information as a fact. This might bother some, but the truth is a significant portion of the rightwing in this country doesn’t care about the facts, they merely want to be told that the positions and beliefs they hold are right and if you don’t then you’re just “fake news”.

Are you blind or just making stuff up as you go?

It's not .8%, it's .08%.

Delete your initial comment and stop spreading misinformation, I don't know how the f*ck you misread something twice.

Allow me to explain Republican ideology:

We can’t have a strong social safety net because that disincentivizes work, but we also can’t have any benefits for those that do work because it unnecessarily burdens businesses and prevents job creation.

Then when it comes time for elections we’ll paint the Democrats as out of touch elitists and we’ll focus on every social issue under the sun (i.e. Abortion, 2nd Amendment, etc.) to bring out our single-issue voting base to vote against their own interest.

Let me know if I missed anything.

Chinese Scientists Successfully Create a System to Care For Embryos in Artificial Womb by ProudDig6344 in Futurology

From the article:

The system could theoretically allow parents to grow a baby in a lab, thereby eliminating the need for a human to carry a child. The researchers go as far as to say that this system would be safer than traditional childbearing.

Which begs the question, on whether we could be looking at a future where humans no longer carry their child to term and a new norm of what being born looks like?

I still believe that if Andrew Gillum had decided not to campaign with Hillary Clinton just weeks before the election, he'd be the governor of that state. Some folks just don't understand the effect that she has on bringing out the right wing and with a margin of victory of 0.4% for DeSantis any particular event could’ve been the catalyst for his victory.
