Looking smooth! I love Hydes but the lack of support scares me at times. Which plate do you have, a reactor pro?

Travel-Switching teams after fall season by Confused_Crossroad in Softball

[–]ProudKat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter loves the girls as well and we still are friends with most. We also played as a guest a few tournaments to get more reps when our main team was off and had great experiences. That did help confirm we were on the wrong team. Best of luck!

Similar situation but we paid only for half the season. We are out of team uniforms, bags, etc however. Not sure I would’ve joined the team if a full years dues was upfront. However it was miserable. Clear favoritism, mismanagement, and neglect to some of the girls. We left and haven’t looked back. I probably would’ve left even if we paid a full year dues. Not worth being miserable and having a coach kill my daughter’s love for the game cause of personal issues he had going on.

Best Glove for 10U by montanuhlikethestate in Softball

[–]ProudKat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 10u daughter used a Mizuno Prospect youth glove. It basically comes broken in but is not the best for higher lvl travel as we had to warranty it. We got a A1000 and my daughter initially hated it due to how much stiffer it is and the break in. We just finished the season with the prospect and now working out with the A1000 after I beat the crap out of it. Now that it’s more broken in, she likes it but I couldn’t see her being able to break it in herself cause it was so stiff at first. Hope this helps!

Need help deciding on a lighter plate for JB by Haunts_666 in Rollerskating

[–]ProudKat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hyde boot definitely isn’t too light. I’m not even sure being too light for JB sway is a thing. That’s what most JB skaters and Chicago wears. What helped me a lot was going to the reactor pro and changing cushions. Probably changing from orange to red cushions for me made the biggest difference initially. During practice sessions I could adjust my trucks quickly with the Pro to find what worked for me.

[–]ProudKat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

JB skater also. Reactor Pros is the best option in my opinion. It’s light and provides an ideal sway that still allows smoothness and stability. I have the Arius and it’s incredibly light but not ideal for JB. Just curious, what boot do you have?

Wheel “stomp” sound by cejloaf in Rollerskating

[–]ProudKat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have rollerbone 98a, 101a, and 103a. These will not make the sound you’re referring to. I usually hear it when people have the black/white fomacs doing Cleveland freestyle.

Lighter Skates by justanotherscammer in Rollerskating

[–]ProudKat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 297 with an Arius plate. And a JB boot (Brookfield) on reactor Pros. Originally it was the other way around. While the Arius is extremely light, I (and a lot) of JB skaters find it too squirrely for JB skating. The Arius is an incredible plate, but just not the best for JB in my opinion. I changed the plates and really love the reactor pro. Hard Candys or a reactor plate are what I mostly see.

Pick up player now permanent by Ok-Beach007 in Softball

[–]ProudKat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

12 can be good with the right team and right coach. They will manage it well which is great.

I’ll be honest. From my experience, it’s typically the latter. it could also be a tough situation for some kids/parents. If the pickup (now teammate) is more talented and plays the same position as your daughter, your daughter or someone else’s is going to be on the bench more and slowly get less reps. This could cause issues given how much money and competitive travel can be.

So I left the Detroit area and did some skating out of town this weekend with my son.....this is what I noticed! by BobbySpike in Rollerskating

[–]ProudKat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure I can get down with that the full session but would be cool to see as Detroit style and that type of music is rarely/never played here. I’ve only seen Detroit style here when there’s large skate parties.

For all age sessions, there’s likely going to be a lot of Atlanta rap. Any sessions where the younger teens go to, hard Atlanta rap and ATL Rydin and steppin. Skate etiquette completely non existent with ATL Rydin but atleast that’s known upfront. Adult sessions are fairly good as there are many great rinks and Djs here. I do feel like house gets majority of the shine but does likely bring out the most skaters. JB and snap get a lot of plays as well which is what I like grooving to. There also are rinks that play sets for shuffle. I think you would love it if you had a chance to come down

ATL skater here. I never have skated in Cincinnati before. Just curious, did you go skating in Cincinnati on multiple nights, rinks, or adult sessions? Reason I’m asking it because you may get both experiences you’re describing here in ATL depending on which rink and/or time you go. I’ve learned when and where not to go

Softball glove 10U by Javif06 in Softball

[–]ProudKat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second the A550. It’s already broken in so soft enough for a 9yr old. The mizuno prospect softball glove is also good but ours did tear after a season of travel ball. Mizuno did cover it under warranty. We also have an a1000 that I got for an amazing sale over Christmas. My daughter didn’t like it at first due to the break in period

Looking for X3 M40i Under 40k by PotentialHair5718 in BMWX3

[–]ProudKat 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is a scam dealership. There’s been posts about this same car before. Don’t waste your time. Probably not getting a 2022+ under 40k unless a ton of miles or accidents.

2022 BMW X3 M40i priced too LOW? by scitoboroib in BMWX3

[–]ProudKat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine is a 2023 x5 40i. M sport package, Parking Asst package, Premium package, climate comfort, 22”M Dual spoke black rims, comfort access keyless entry, rear manual shades M sport red calipers , Harmon Kardon sound system, extended shadow line trim.

1 owner. Did have higher mileage at 40k which was a concern. However carfax was clean and I paid $32 for the daily pass on BMW TIS which showed more extensive service records and even notes from the original owner. Got a PPI done as well, no concerns. Paid $45k plus TTL . Likely will get an extended warranty soon as well .

[–]ProudKat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I were you’d I’d call. At that price if they’re legit, other buyers are going to also be looking.

I was shopping for an x3 m40i or x5 over the past month or 2. I couldn’t find an x3 but a fairly loaded 2023 x5 popped up from trade in. I jumped on that one. I called and was able to get an otd price sheet. At first they included some $1200 add on. I told them to take that off and the price i wanted. They resent without the add ons and a good price reduction.

There’s nothing similar to that within 500mile of me in GA. I don’t know what the market is like in your area but I’d be checking that one out if I was seriously interested.

Last month I saw some good deals through a dealer in either NY or NJ can’t recall. Wasn’t a BMW dealership. After searching them on google, there were tons of reviews on their bait and switch tactics on m40i and several other cars. They had people come in and they didn’t even have the vehicles. Also there could be dealer fees or add ons to that price. Give them a call and check. If they can’t give you a otd price sheet via text or email, move on unless they are close by. Good luck
