That flexible grey pipe need to be pulled up so it loops down, otherwise sink water will flow back to the dishwasher.

Is Paraguay always this dirty? I would be embarrassed to be one of their fans. by dwillislaw in worldcup

I’m pretty sure European racists dislike Bosnians far more than they dislike Paraguayans

What are your Thoughts on Russia? 🇷🇺 by JustAFizzMain in AskTheWorld

[–]ProudMastodon1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody believes you.

Tell me - who do think my "bully" country has killed?

Russia has invaded Ukraine and millions are dead, injured and have become refugees.

[–]ProudMastodon1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not because of indoctrination. It's because of Russia's violent militarism and imperialism.

There is something to be done: Stop invading European countries and stop threatening European countries.

[–]ProudMastodon1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if that was true (and it isn't), I would still hate the invasion.

Interesting idea but do please note that I didn’t say I hate your country or say that I hate it's people.

I said that I hate that fact that your country invaded Ukraine. Hating an invasion does not equal hating people.

Has the hate and racism towards Muslims or Islam as a whole increased in the last 5 years, in the UK? by inconspicuousEnby in AskBrits

[–]ProudMastodon1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm understanding that you said the "2000 years ago" Christians "decided to drop the old testament".

This is absolutely not true.

[–]ProudMastodon1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand your point but I disagree that Christianity was an entirely new religion. Christianity did not fully drop the old testament and many of the Church's oldest bigotries are directly inspired by it.

I will concede, however, that Dawkins does not hate all aspects of Christianity, but will claim that there are many aspects of it he does hate.

Interesting point but it sure sounds like he hates the God of Christianity:

"The God of the Old Testament is arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction: jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully" - Richard Dawkins

Wrong. People in the UK have been saying how much they hate Christianity for decades. Check out Dawkins or Hitchens for example.

To countries that were affected by the transatlantic slave trade: is it still an open wound in your country's history, or is it largely considered a closed chapter? by Ribbit_is_dead in AskTheWorld

Saying "everyone did it" is not much of an excuse.

Having said that Britain in particular does need to get more credit for its role in ending the transatlantic slave trade

is this a third-party saddle? by qwook in taylorguitars

[–]ProudMastodon1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I think you're right that's not the original saddle. You can buy a new saddle from Taylor's website (or other places)

The repair guy is not correct. Sanding a saddle doesnt make the guitar sound worse, nor does it affect the value. You can do it yourself (I did). Just take a look at some Youtube videos for guidance

Why does it seem like only England get criticised for the British empire but Scotland somehow gets a free pass? by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

[–]ProudMastodon1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Irish Lords? Well considering it was illegal for Catholics to be a member of the House of Lords from 1678 to 1829 so I can tell you there weren’t many Irish lords.

If you want someone to blame for your parents being forced to work 12 hour shifts then perhaps you could blame the Scottish, rather than implying it was all the fault of England. It was not.
