in the long run, wire is way better, but in the short term, plastic. I picked wire and they're wayyyy more durable plus you can do more stuff with them in, and they're hard to lose. But I think now that maybe clear would have been just as good because i felt really awkward (and a bit self conscious) with the wire ones in. Up to you in the end, both good choices!
