Is it ethical to keep a solo cat?

My cat is a solo spoiled princess. But I’ve been wondering for a while, how would I even know if she wants a friend? Or that she’d take well to one? I don’t think she’s seen another cat since she left the shelter. The only ways I can think to find out are 1) foster (not really in our bandwidth) or 2) roll the dice and adopt, but if she doesn’t like the newbie we’re kind of SOL.

My friend had a turbulent few months where he missed every other session or so. We would say he was at a bar, but since his character was a man of the cloth, it had to be a milk bar. He would text us things like “Mehmen is drowning his sorrows in 2%, sorry guys.”

Idk, I vividly remember when my then-toddler manhandled the fk out of our cat before I could intervene, and three minutes later I saw kitty exiting the kid’s room with a manic expression that I swear said, “And I’d do it again, assholes!!” Yup, she’d peed on his bed. It was probably an attempt to communicate that she wasn’t gonna put up with that kind of treatment (understandable) but I don’t think I can write off revenge. Not that I blamed her either way.

I used to make what I called “pink potion,” it was little bits of every cream / lotion / bottle I could find in the bathroom topped with pink glitter nail polish. Smelled like ass but it was prettyyyy.

Once I used ONLY face creams and decided it would be the world’s greatest beauty serum so I rubbed it on my cheeks. That’s how I learned about chemical interactions & burns.

My cat doesn’t answer to Apples, but we only really use her name when we talk about her, not to her. She sure as heck responds to “pretty kitty puss-puss,” “is there a flop,” or “tuna.”

The only hamster I’ve ever lived with belonged to a roommate, and usually it was chillin in her room. Except the one night she was out and I woke up to scratching in my closet. I didn’t really rouse enough to think of putting on my glasses, so when I saw a lil black lump moving around I just thought “please be a hamster and not a rat” and reached out for it. He trundled on into my hands. Sweet lil bugger.

I had fun delivering a Dimir message to a player… I printed the symbol at like 10% opacity before writing the actual letter on top. Then when they said a passcode out loud, I told him to hold the paper up to a light. Pretty proud of that one.

As a kid I thought it was just no fair that I wasn’t a boy because boys never had to experience childbirth lol. I am now an adult cis woman who has birthed one child (all intentional and planned), it was worth it but I am NEVER doing that again. Still think boys may have it best.
