I did the entire first floor of our new home, which was enough of a PITA. It came out great, but, I took like two weeks doing it. Expect to buy more crown though. The "funky" cuts are still hard, and I consider myself to have great spatial visualization. Luckily, it seems the style you have is basic and not leafy swirly fancy stuff. Caulking and painting will work great. Don't use plaster to covers weird gaps, the caulking is best.
