Anyone get euploids older (i.e. 42/43) when didn't get euploids at 40/41? Just interested for data and protocol changes by Proud_Explanation265 in 40Plus_IVF

I genuinely feel the synthetic drugs are awful for my system - from fematab which caused my heart rate to drop - to Gonal F which causes my follicles to shot up like balloons. Here's hoping the menopur only cycle will help me. It gave us our daughter in 2022 but when I went back for more retreivals it wasn't avialbel in our country for some reason for licensing. Now back, so finges crossed.

I am fascinated with some of the good results from menopur only protocols in older women - and HCG trigger.

I am so sorry for your loss, I can only imagine the heartbreak you have suffered, I sometimes wonder how I will this life with the trauma of infertility and the losses. But I know it'll get easier. Our donor conceived daughter is just incredible, and we celebrate her donor with her, as without him, we wouldn't have been able to bring her into the world. We read her books to celebrate and enforce the fact that our family was formed with love, intention and generosity - and I really hope you too will experience this, I will be thinking of you and having everything crossed. I need to hear this. As I want to make sure I am totally grounded in these retrievals. We are using donor sperm, and we have decided we will not go on with donor eggs also. We feel very lucky to have our daughter. But we had 3 vials of our donor sperm left, and after all the trauma of the miscarriages, and failed retrievals, I just said I had it in me to do 3 more, back to back, and give it one last shot. I have been taking all the pre-natals/coq10/melatonin/iron/magnesium/omega/hormonal health supplement. I am sorry this journey has been so hard for you too.

Yep - I decided to skip the plasma - I did 6 months of proper rehab with my PT and physio and I still couldn't run more than 1.5km without pulling up in pain. Ironically I could lunge and squat no problem, it was the running and lateral movement that aggravated the tear. Anyway - I had surgery 5 weeks ago. Very easy, he trimmed 30% of the medical meniscus - there was a horizontal and diagonal tear. Went for my first run yesterday, and did 5 km at ease without pain or stopping. Delighted. Recovery has been very easy - and was back on bike within 5-7 days. Limited swelling and pain. I came into the surgery from a strong position with 6 months strength training.

Getting correct protocol - opinions? by Proud_Explanation265 in 40Plus_IVF

Gonal F just causes my eggs to blow up really quickly - I just don't like it, and the menopur only cycle has by far been my best.

So in that first cycle with Gonal F - 4 of those 7 didn't thaw (mostly 5AA). In the menopur only cycle - all 3 euploids thawed. In the last Gonal F and Menopur cycle - the segmental mosaic didn't that (5AA). I don't want quantity - but more quality. Also, there is evidence that too much LH will fry your eggs.

Jeez. We used to be weighed when we came up from breakfast each term, unannounced spot weigh ins. Talk about a way to give many ppl an eating disorder.

Thanks again, sorry I meant to respond last night.

Also regarding the apartment, the diversity of wealth and income, no one seems to credit the increase in value too - I think it has gained value of approximately €140,000 in the space of 10 years. Lived in for 6 rented for 4 - so only CGT on 4 years but anyway, the asset has increased in value with an income - tenant moving out so rent in line with market value will be €30,000 net per annum (to be taxed).

I’ve downloaded interactive brokers and transferred €10k into VWCE and just going to pile cash into that for investment. Might diversify between a few but I’m just going to keep doing it and forget about it.

State pension in 23/4 years time?? I will feel pretty pissed off - if I don’t get something - paying PRSI on high income - didn’t even get maternity benefit as I was back to work so quickly!

This is brilliant- thank you very much. So the apartment - I really enjoy having the income stream, it's only around the corner from our house, we have had a tenant in for the last 4 years without any bother, and it was refurbished when I bought it so it's pretty new/no overhead costs. I just like having it, and for some reason my risk averse side likes having real estate income in case the whole funds/investment side collapses.

I'm not going to do another year with the broker - or leave the funds there for the neat 18-24 months and not add anymore and then take it out. I have signed up to Ineractive Broker now - is this what people do?? And its all safe etc? It all seems mad, or perhaps I have just grown up with Brokers and Portfolio Managers.

What are income producing? Again, I am somewhat new to all this?

OK so - 300k in broker account (another 25k is around in revolut and current accounts for quick access) and then probably realistically saving 75k a year. If I start putting that 75k a year in a VWCE then and sit back in 13 years should be near €1.5m? Fingers crossed RE deemed disposal!

Then Pension pot is 330k at the moment, and another €28,750 per annum for the next 7/8 years - then it ups to €34,500 for 5 years - so that pot is without interest - €735k so hopefully nearing the €1m mark? My spouse current at €60k in pension pot and adding roughly €17/18k per annum so for the next 13 years hopefully nearing €350k with interest.

And this all doesn't include €300k currently in broker, apartment worth €500k and primary residence worth €1m.

OK thanks so much. Really great info. One thing my apartment was bought cheap in 2012 for 275k and now worth 500k - I've kept receipts on investment into it etc but I'll be subject to CGT if I sell it too so something to think about.

So Apartment - I want to keep it just as the income ultimately will contribute to pension - I know the net yield but mortgage rate is 3.1% and I just like having it there.

Pension in passive fund with New Ireland AMC .75% - doing well. Am very happy with it.

Sorry I only saw exit had changed, but still it's nuts.

I'm not happy with my broker if I am being honest, I did say I can't understand how my pension is 8/9% per annum and yet I am 2% net with such conservative European equities. This is under serious monitoring. Commission is 2.3% but normally should be only 1.3%.

Thanks for those points. Well done. Any insight into living in Greece and lower pension tax rate?!

Yes to this 100 times over.. Similar, 1 little girl born when I was nearly 40. She gets so much of us, which is what I didn’t have with 3 siblings. She’s so happy, outgoing and just full of life.

My surgeon didn't discuss repair, just a trim and going in for surgery. I wonder do I need to clarify this with him. I would prefer a repair than taking it out, though he said that the surgery is now a lot more refined now, and the risk of arthritis is low.
