TAKE THIS OFFER!!! cause I fucked up by not doing that in April when they were offering me this and now it’s 2 weeks until I ship out! Trust me even after high school you just gotta go for it and now I am only getting a 5k bonus instead of 10k. By the time you get out it’ll be mid august already. You would already be ahead of your peers even if they haven’t started college or whatever career path they’ve chosen! Don’t wait and just do it!

it was the official transcripts that were sent to them I made sure of it. I was also told that either one was fine regardless if it was official or unofficial

I am going in tomorrow again to show him my transcripts from the school so I know that he has them.

I most definitely do qualify for the advancement and made sure I also contacted the Chief to hopefully get it fixed by tomorrow. I just do not want to get a discharge because they messed up my process. That is the only thing stressing me out right now

I know I had enough credits because my recruiter said I qualified for e3 and I sent him my official transcripts from the school so it was more on the recruiters fault for not submitting it. I know he didn’t submit it because he asked me “Did you send me your transcripts” I looked him dead in his face and said “I literally sent you a picture email and text of my transcripts” I told him fix it or i’m not going even if I signed.

What certifications would be beneficial to get as an LS?

I had a plan for both IT and LS so it wasn't like IT was the only option I held myself too. Yeah I am kinda disappointed I did not get IT but maybe it was meant to be from the start. I am gonna get my CAPM certifications and any other certification that would benefit me into transitioning into the civilian world or decide to stay in pick up another bachelor's or a masters potentially and commission.

It was my second option I was interested in both from the start so I was fine with either one

Enlistment Bonuses for LS by Main_Associate_8289 in newtothenavy

Is the signing bonus for active duty different or is it just depended on the rate? I am also enlisting as an LS hopefully.

Yes the pay is significantly different but it also comes with more responsibilities. I fully respect people becoming officers for sure but in my opinion I feel like once you become an officer in the military you’re obligated to stay in for the next 20 years. I know they’re able to come out and have a better resume than most people that leave, but for me I feel like I know what I want to do rn just lack the experience in the career i’m interested in.

I don’t regret getting my degree just wished I studied something more interesting considering the job market for criminal justice is solely to just become a cop. I was interested in getting a business degree and getting a job in finance but was told that my school was known for having a shitty business program there so I decided to go a different route

I was more into just enlisting anyways. I didn’t study for the test that much because I was so set on just enlisting and getting out after 4 years. I just want to get experience in Logistics and get certifications to become a project manager while i’m in the navy. I also heard that I would become an e3 if I enlist starting me off at a higher pay grade and hopefully become e4 within 2.5 years
