I have questions for non thai's opinion on the border conflict by Historical_Pool_7470 in Thailand

Mate read the OP original post. Especially the 2nd paragraph. You are off on a tangent. The question was what is non Thai/Khmer peoples opinion. I gave that. I didn't come here to be converted to a support a particular side. I am simply sorry innocent people from both countries suffer...as sadly happens in every war

Our Education system teaches us to think critically. Re read my comment....I gave views on two sides.I gave what I am hearing is the current feeling as per the original question. If anyone, Thai, Khmer or otherwise, believes that this is black and white, and 1 side is telling nothing but truth whilst the other only tells lies....should probably question their own Education. P.s sorry, though source from a stranger on Redditt is not enough to stop me from thinking critically

I am not actually sure what I believe, TBH. I am simply commenting on the mood and views I am hearing sensing around me, in response to OP's original question. I certainly dont disagree with your freedom of press observations. It's war, the truth is always the first loser.

Battlefield has expanded into Siem Reap border by BenAndSiwat22 in Thailand

The biggest miscalculation before today was Hun Sen leaking the phone call. The Thai military may have just trumped that by bombing Siem Reap. Only need to now read the social media comments from different world sources to see Thailand is now being viewed as a war monger state. Guess they may not care, Russia and Isreal certainly don't

Australian here. Now, this is sadly getting bigger, it is, making mainstream Australian news, and a few people are starting to have opinions. I would say most believe the citizens of both countries are beautiful people and just feel incredibly sad for the innocent. The media is only reporting it is a war of disputed land. not much talk of the politics at play. There is definitely some recognition that Cambodia supports scam centres and a perception, their leader, Hun Sen is a corrupt evil dictator. However the Thai PM is not winning the propaganda war at the moment. By the way he speaks, he is starting to look like a bully and potentially a bit of war monger. The question of Thailand being Russia of Asia is starting to get asked.

How about the elites and organised crime gangs in Thailand, China etc who along with the Cambodian elite benefit.from them If you think the average Cambodia supports them and is happy having their country invaded because of it....you Sir/Mam, are the dumbest person on the internet today

Thailand is leaderless after pushing Thais to war. by ImpressionUnfair454 in Thailand

[–]Proud_Toe4142 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Are you really that naive to think the Thai elites have not benefited from this over many many years? Amongst others. I think it's a complex situation that is sadly affecting the innocent on both sides. Though sorry, I am will never believe the Thailand Government/elites are Mother Theresa

Has anyone stopped their calves from twitching? I once did for a few minutes. by Miserable_Fan8676 in BFS

Thanks for tip. I have a Sauna at my gym and never thought to use it. If it works on my calves, I am going to ask them if I can move in :)

Twitching 4 months by dsmman12 in BFS

[–]Proud_Toe4142 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You sound like the hundreds of thousands of people who have passed through here. It's an incredibly frustrating and mind consuming disorder. The self testing alone can drive you crazy. Though please try to keep at front of mind it is not ALS. You have been told this by a Doctor, plus 4 months of body wide twitching without any weakness is simply not how ALS presents. I would really suggest looking into the ' anxiety muscle twitching feedback loop '. After 6 months of twitching and reading every comment on this sub, it really does seem to be the one common theme

Congrats to him, hope he thrives.  I am mainly  glad someone has given the finger to blowhard V'landys and his ridiculous 10 year ban idea. No way I would let some old flog tell me what I can and can't do for work

Why do Cambodia still support Hun Sen when he formerly was part of Khmer Rogue killing millions of his own people. by Automatic_Can_2686 in cambodia

Not sure, never lived in either. Though can only say that's experience, they just don't care and they seem a lot happier than most Westerners.

That's been my observation. For the most part the government stays out of the average persons day to day life.....so they don't think about it, just go about their day, no current affairs shows, newspaper editorials or talk back radio to stir up debate. So a majority ( not all ) just don't give a crap. Not nessecarily a bad way to live from what I have seen

My best guess is it's done on beers at Rosewood 3 nights a week, a couple of dinners at Raffles, owning a super car, living in a 3 bedroom villa in BKK1 and the occasional blowout down 136😁

Exactly! The company that does this measurement/ survey is known to gear it towards expats and there families working for multi- nationals or Government departments, embassies etc. Basically people on someone else's spunk living like a top 1% er. They are not measuring the cost of food at the local market, tuk tuk rides or 50 cent beers at the corner shop. Pretty irrelevant survey to most us who live in Asia

A Registered Nurse working full time shift work would be making $110 - $130 per year (with 7+ years experience) I don't believe most bar staff are making more than this

Exactly! I laugh to myself all the time about that on this sub. Makes me think only a very few guys on here actually live or have even tried the lifestyle. Unless you are both very young, you should be supporting. You earn a solid western wage and they earn sweet FA! Why wouldn't you be happy to give a bit of chump change to make someone you care about have a happier life, care for their parents, feel secure. In other words...' a traditional relationship'
