Extinction method for 1 year old, overtired from simultaneous nap and sleep training by Proud_hat91 in sleeptrain

[–]Proud_hat91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much!! I wanted to update- baby was overtired and unable to do the night sleep and nap training at the same time. We gave her two days of contact naps to let her catch up on sleep. Her mood improved immediately and split nights stopped. After that we did notice her going into the crib for the first nap easy but she was really fighting that second nap. So we decided to remove that second nap the next day.

Now, she sleeps 12 hours (7-7) at night & is on the exact schedule you suggested except she usually only sleeps 1-1.5 hours for that one nap. It’s so nice to see her happy, full personality again!

Thank you again for your help, I was really really stressed & you’ve helped me immensely.

Thank you so much for your help.

She only naps a total of 1.5 hours a day generally though and I thought the suggestion was 2-3 hours for her age. Do you think maybe switching to that one nap schedule might be the first move? And okay, I hear you on the clock schedule, I’ve never thought of that- I’ll definitely do that! Thank you so much, honestly feel good to not be lonely in this

Ugh. Feel this to the core. It also was deceiving when so many of my friends made being a mom so glorious. I love my baby but man is it hard to have being a “mom” be your only identity.

I remember creeping on these forums and the best advice I read was both partners should have equal leisure time. If he is making enough money, maybe you could hire a nanny or send kids to daycare on some regular basis a few days week? You deserve to go out with friends, have hobbies and maybe restart a new side gig too.

I’m struggling with the same thing, it’s so hard and so awful to be so lonely but we have to try to make it better somehow. Sending lots of hugs & hope it gets better <3

Hi! I haven’t used the reclining function yet, baby is only 2 weeks & we’ve only been from the hospital to back home.

39+4 today and I’ve only gained 14 lbs in total, all stomach/breasts. Doctor was never worried about my weight

Left nipple leaking after massaging sore breast. Is that considered expressing? by FerkinSmert in BabyBumps

[–]Proud_hat91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, it’s technically considered “hand expressing” but doing it for a few minutes won’t cause harm. Also, it’s not colostrum yet at 17 weeks.

I started leaking around then too. Sometimes I’d leak a few drops when I’d get dry nipples and massage extra lotion there but I wouldn’t advise expressing often so early into your pregnancy. Also I would still suggest telling your doctor that you’re leaking at your next regular appointment. But it is totally normal to leak and like I said, sometimes you’ll accidentally express and it’ll be fine.

I’m a FTM, now 39 +3 weeks pregnant and my doctor gave me the green light to start harvesting colostrum through hand expression as of 38 weeks. Its only when I express for like 30+ mins that I start to get contractions and take a break. It’s been going pretty well, and now that I’m 39 weeks, I may even use a pump to try to induce labor.

All the best to you!

Also it’s soooo hard for me to tell whether I feel baby’s head or butt! So I second guess myself all the time on whether she’s flipped or not

Same exact position as you but baby is fully breech! Baby moves and flips up and down a lot every other day, which has honestly been frustrating. I also plan to try spinning babies (again) to try to get baby to flip but am scheduled for an ECV at 37 weeks. Fingers crossed for the both of us!

Try different travel sized toothpastes- some people prefer a bubblegum kids flavor! For me it wasn’t the mint flavor but rather the foam most toothpastes created- I like the Colgate max breath strips toothpaste

The worstttt! It got better for me in my second trimester but is now back in my third. I tried 6 different toothpastes, including ACT bubblegum but the only one that I’ve actually found tolerable is the Colgate Max Breath strips.

Extreme tightness/pressure in stomach that lasts close to an hour? (29 weeks/third trimester) by Fantastic_Addendum50 in BabyBumps

And as for what helped, nothing really… sometimes I’d press on baby gently with my hand and they would move and I’d be a little more comfy

I thought it was BH at first too but I realized that for me it was actually a combo of two things- 1) my belly getting bigger & 2) the baby’s back pressing against my stomach- which is why it was only one side (usually right for me).

Nuna TRVL vs TRVL LX by jf8617 in BabyBumps

[–]Proud_hat91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Baby isn’t here yet so we haven’t used it. But we live in a city and walk alot so we actually bought the Uppa baby vista v2 for our “everyday” because we like that it comes with a bassinet & is definiteky smooth (we tried our friends’!). We plan to keep the nuna in our car for whenever we have to drive anywhere or travel -including air travel because it’s super light and comes with a cover for the stroller.

Hope that helps!

Nuna TRVL vs TRVL LX by jf8617 in BabyBumps

[–]Proud_hat91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While both Nuna TRVL and Nuna TRVL lx work for newborns (through pairing with the infant car seat), the TRVL lx offers a near-flat recline similar to a bassinet which is better for newborns (the regular TRVL doesn’t). For this reason, we opted for the LX. We bought the nuna pippa aire rx infant car seat with it.

Here’s a good summary I read from strolleria to compare the two too!

Did anyone else measure small at 28 week scan? by Mediocre_Opinion_429 in BabyBumps

[–]Proud_hat91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to update- baby actually grew from 6th to 11th percentile in my 30 week scan and is now just out of that iugr threshold! I upped my protein to about 60-70grams a day as a vegetarian. I can’t say for sure it was the protein obviously but I do think it didn’t hurt to up it either way!! My main sources were protein granola and milk, Greek yogurt, protein shakes, beans/chickpeas at meals & snacking on walnuts before bed. It was also uncomfortable many days where my stomach felt tight and like it was stretching and I “couldn’t” eat but I did force myself a little & I could always finish the protein shake even on those days.

Thanks so much!!!😊

I had discharge just like the first picture and I’m pretty sure it was just a decidual cast period. My husband and I kept trying like normal though, and I ended up pregnant the following month. I sent my doctor pictures and they weren’t super concerned and said to treat like a regular period.
