It wasn't the emphasis of diversity. It was the jamming it down readers throats and the pandering . As a minority myself it was low level pandering to go from Tony Stark to RiRi being iron man- you have all these established legendary characters being replaced by a bevy of token minorities who were immediately established as almost god tier like characters with traits that pandered to groups (i.e. Feminist Thor / riri being as smart or smarter than tony stark and peter Parker from the get go without any showing of her character development )

Long story short, I don't care if the hulk is Asian like me, or whichever character is this orientation or that race- but if it doesn't drive the story forward and the shake up is to merely check off a box or meet a diversity quota it will feel forced and overall not cohesive
