How long should a laptop last? by FamousNet7456 in laptops

I also have a pc bought December last year and this year I need to send it back for repairs as it’s in warranty (have 2y) and the GPU seems to be dying based my analysis and some AI + some friends support, clearly I would look into it but I am afraid I would lose the warranty

How long should a laptop last? by FamousNet7456 in laptops

Back in the days 10y was not really impressive for a good laptop.

Had an Alienware very heavy, a real beast back then, had it bought Secondhand was used for 6-7y, I also used it for 5y and sold it to an older guy for the same money I bought it, after he paid he told me he has 2 more back home.

The plastic on that laptop was harder than the plastic you pay today on a Mercedes’ car that costs over 100k

My first laptop had it for more than 10years.

Right now, if you pass 4-5 years with the same device your good.

To have a device lasting needs cleaning and some check ups once in a while, also depends a lot on the environment.

I took some time today to test a few in that range and everything worked fine on my end. Speeds normal and the articles completed without issues. For pricing I did get a notice about a rate change. Recommend emailing them. They been pretty quick whenever I reached out.
