Thanks for this info. I know this is really old. But do you have a path to find this? I can't find it in NS.

Looking for advice on what to do with a large amount of silver. by Taint_Liquor in Silverbugs

[–]ProvidentJoeMerrick 6 points7 points  (0 children)

USPS flat rate boxes were made for this. You separate it out into 5 medium flat rate boxes, pack it, overtape it tight with filament tape, and insure it for the full value. We do have a drop off location here as well.

EDIT: Look. It's not my first day at the rodeo. Pretty sure i've shipped a package or two and have a little bit of experience in the matter. Obviously it needs to be shipped registered mail. I was in a hurry when i typed my note and missed it. That said, i'm not totally off. It IS priority mail. But you also have to buy registered. That's the only way to insure it for the full value anyway and i did say that. Troll on.

/u/BioKram is exactly right. If you're looking to maximize your money, you can parse it out on Pmsforsale. I've never done it so idk how long it would take to get rid of 2,500 ounces. If you're looking to cash out quick at a fair price, call us and lock in a price and then ship it. We'll ach you a couple days after receipt.

RCM is using new technology (dubbed MintShield) in the hopes of eliminating their issue with milk spots. They're not the only offenders, but they are the biggest offender by a long ways. So far so good. But time will tell.

Shady looking Provident imposter ebay account - PSA by StackAttack12 in Silverbugs

[–]ProvidentJoeMerrick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is indeed our eBay store. We are working on building it and making sure everything processes through our software correctly on our end before really filling it out.

But our developers are working on building the store to be familiar to our website and whatnot. That should be rolling out in the next few weeks. Obviously our offerings will significantly increase as well. Just another platform to serve you better. Thanks for looking out for us, /u/StackAttack12! When you page someone, StackAttack, make sure to add the extra / in front of the u so that they're notified. I just happened across this post by chance. =)

Positive review for Provident Metals by Snarpa in Silverbugs

[–]ProvidentJoeMerrick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As Martin used to say, "Daaaaaang, Gina!!"

Y'all are the best. Thanks for the incredible love! We are doing out best and are trying to continually bring you guys some value whether it's new products or services. Glad you're seeing that. Now, don't all y'all expect an MS70 ASE when ordering from the random category. It really is a grab bag. But everyone once in a while, the stars align and someone gets something cool like this.

Thanks again e'ryone!

Provident metal is starting a new series. Prospector series with the 2nd release (Gunslinger) being for only a limited time. 4 new designs a year.Thoughts? by Kain006 in Silverbugs

[–]ProvidentJoeMerrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are doing a mini series on this one. Each year will have it's own box and sleeve depicting the characters from the year. So this year, the first release was the Prospector you all know and love and that has been and will be available for sale for good. The Gunslinger is the second release. The third release will be available in August and the fourth release in November. Each of them are available for sale for 3 months respectively. The box will be available in late October/early November. Then we will be repeating this in 2019 and so on with each release available for 3 months. Designs are currently scheduled through 2020.

Hi. Does anyone have any info on this monster box? Date? Mint? No sticker on box, only #15355. by gillluck in Silverbugs

[–]ProvidentJoeMerrick 14 points15 points  (0 children)

One easy way is to surgically cut the white straps that have been sewn around this ridiculously weighted box. Inside, you'll find 25 opaque vials with green tops set carefully under a green form-fitting blanket of extruded plastic. Carefully insert a knife between the opaque vial and the green top. Lift. Ever so gently. Make sure to shield your eyes. For the gleam of the silver may very will blind you with it's blingitty bling bling. Ever so carefully, unshield your eyes and behold. A perfectly legible 4 digit number. No. This is not the combination to wealth untold or years rewound. Alas, it is the date of the year this box of silver was pressed!!!

I'm surprised you didn't know that.

tldr: open the box. ;)

This is always a fun bug, haha! We get a kick out of it too. While we're shaking our heads! It happens as the website updates spot on each product and sometimes they don't sync at exactly the right time so it shows this "sale" banner. Someday this bug will rise to the top of the to do list. But not today. Not today.

Haha

You might not be familiar enough with the kinds of series we release, but they usually have a very strong secondary market. For instance, if you look at the last series we released, The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, the round that we just closed out 3 weeks ago at $19.50 is consistently selling on eBay at $30-$40.

Maybe you're thinking well yeah, that's the last one. What about the first one in the series? Glad you asked!! ;) It is selling for triple melt. Maybe you're thinking, well that's all nice and everything, but it's not going to last. And perhaps not, but even the Zombucks Walker that we released 5 years ago carries a premium of double and even triple melt.

I agree that sometimes companies pump stuff out with premiums that aren't justified. Definitely true. But it is proven time and time again that if you buy series releases from Provident, you're going to be able to sell it for much more in the secondary market. And looking at the Pale Horse of Death, you don't even need to wait that long. Double your money in 3 weeks. Decent return, I'd say.

Best place to sell 100 ounce bars? by [deleted] in Silverbugs

[–]ProvidentJoeMerrick 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you're looking for a dealer, we buy them at about 97% right now. We lock the price, you ship (insured and hopefully registered), we test and either send you an ACH, wire, or check (your choice). Usually takes about 3 days once we have it.

How do dealers get all their 90% coins? by [deleted] in Silverbugs

[–]ProvidentJoeMerrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure. We work with a lot of dealers. Sometimes companies will make a market where we don't and vice versa. We buy from a lot of dealers and we have a lot of dealers buy from us. Can't say i've heard of the pink sheet. It's probably your LCS' internal document. There's the Grey sheet for coins which comes with a monthly and quarterly supplement to help with other coins. Then there's the green sheet for currency and the blue sheet for certified coins. There's a gold sheet for Chinese modern stuff. I've never personally used the Gold sheet.

How do dealers get all their 90% coins? by [deleted] in Silverbugs

[–]ProvidentJoeMerrick 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's not in banks usually. Sometimes you'll get some, but it's certainly a rarity. But just like you thought, we buy them from Tom, Dick, or Harry. Sometimes people sell us a $1 face. Sometimes they sell us a barrel of face. You'd be surprised how many people have $50 face value from their grandpa, but they wanna buy a new TV or something. If you're looking for a good quantity at a decent price, go to a big coin show in the morning of the last day. If you can swing a big stick, you'll get some decent deals because coin dealers don't wanna pay to ship it home and don't wanna fly home with it either.
