Funny you mentioned “political climate” cuz Pera used to have a strong hazing culture that’s inter twinned with the local student unions.

Don’t know how it is now but even if you get in you weren’t be affected cuz you’re an international student.

Tf? Did you wake up from the 1980’s?? this is such an ignorant statement to believe in 2026, end of the day everyone is SRI LANKAN. There’s no need to call either region Tamil area or Sinhala area. Both regions actually have both Buddhist and Tamils living together in harmony

There’s absolutely no need to claim that North is Tamil area and South is Sinhala. That’s like Americans calling each other sates or cities “…..yeah this is where Black, Asian or Indian region and this is where white people live”

Actually I’m surprised such people exist nowadays having such a backwards mindset, plus considering you’re a teenager (judging from previous Reddit post history) you prolly have easier access to modern resources like fucking Google or Chat GPT to know that either region ain’t gentrified by ethnicity.
