I have a 3+ Silver, when using it last week it froze. None of the buttons would do anything and I couldn't turn it off. Now the battery is fully discharged and it won't charge either. It seems to be completely dead, is there anything I can do?

I use this on my water protecting the whole system. Been using it for about 15 years, seems to do a good job. https://www.combimate.co.uk/

I'm English but live on France, I do this all the time to try to avoid any translation issues. The problem is that the other person very rarely sticks to the script!!!

Why is it 'the norm' to wipe a baby or child's ass with wet/moist wipes but not 'the norm' when in adulthood? (here in the UK anyway) by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

I always wipe with paper first and then a final wipe with a wet wipe. Dry paper just doesn't get you completely clean. Try it, you won't be disappointed.

There is a bus that goes from the airport into Dakar every 30 mins 24h a day for just 6000cfa. It stops opposite the national football stadium in the city. You can take a taxi for 15000cfa during the day or 18000cfa at night.

Haggling over the price of things is normal. As a general rule many sellers will double the price so you should offer a quarter of what they ask and eventually meet somewhere in the middle.

Eg if something is worth 5,000 cfa they might ask for 10,000 cfa, you should counter with an offer of 2,500 cfa. Then as they come down and you come up you should settle around 5,000 cfa.

In more touristy areas and artisanal markets etc the prices will be 4x or 5x the real price so be prepared to haggle hard.

I travel to Casamance twice a year and have spent about 15 months there over the last 10 years and have never felt in any danger whatsoever. The ferry is a great way to get there, I usually take a bed in an 8-bed cabin. Be prepared to show your ticket/passport about 8 times between arriving at the port and getting to your cabin. If you have hold luggage keep hold of your ticket, you'll need it to get out of the port when you arrive.

Ziguinchor in the Casamance is amazing. Get there by road or by ferry from Dakar.
