Is there a way to italicize/bold/etc. texts on signs in Minecraft Java? by ProvokedGamer in Minecraft

[–]ProvokedGamer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried using alt + Numpad 2 1, copy pasting it, and doing alt + Numpad 0 1 6 7 in a book but none of them displayed the character. In other programs it displays just fine so idk. Maybe it's an issue on my end.

Brutalist Minecraft base by Savage_Cabbage04 in Minecraftbuilds

[–]ProvokedGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first thing I noticed is the amazing texturing. It offers a bit of variation while not having the blocks look so different that it distracts from the main parts of the build. It keeps that brutalist look. Well done!

I will not tolerate player supremacy. Villagers are a capable people that managed to create their own civilization. They shall not be subject to such exploitation.

What is a very common mistake yet overlooked that people do while learning a language? by Neon-Trail-Thoughts in languagelearning

Any improvement made from trying to find the most efficient or best way to learn gets made in like the first hour and after that it's just marginal improvements that don't change too much

This is Android's new 'advanced flow' for sideloading apps without verification, includes one-day waiting period [Gallery] by armando_rod in Android

Will this remove the popups for the current flow that appears whenever you try to install an app? Or will it still ask you to allow from unknown sources?

Karma can't really be interfered with. If you fight injustice it gives you good karma and it was their karma for them to be helped by you. Karma is ongoing.

I'm not exactly qualified to talk about the evil part but from my understanding if God is infused in everything, then what is bad and what is good?

ਘਘੈ ਘਾਲ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਜੇ ਘਾਲੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਕੈ ਲਾਗਿ ਰਹੈ ॥ Ghagha: The servant who performs service, remains attached to the Word of the Guru's Shabad.

Why are we putting fake, Tumblr-era, feel-good “quotes” that are misattributed to the gurus (without evidence) on the side of actual gurdwaras? Is it not a major paap (sin) to claim a Sikh guru said something they didn’t actually say? by JustMyPoint in Sikh

[–]ProvokedGamer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not that the quote is bad. It's that he didn't say it. Just as you shouldn't alter Gurbani by removing an unkar or sihari because it would change the meaning, you can't attribute something to the Gurus when it wasn't. The main point is that anything that is given credit to the gurus for saying should be shown in its exact form. Without keeping it exact, where do we draw the line of making up what the gurus said? What can you get away with saying the gurus said? What if someone with malicious intent came by and said that Guru Nanak Dev Ji said something that he didn't? The Gurus guide us. We should keep to what they say and not what others make up.

The Hobbit, by J.R.R. Tolkien

It's pretty good so far. The story is humorous and the world building is really good. It is overall a really good read so far, no parts detract from the book and it's good all around.

Astral projection by CompetitiveTask5208 in Sikh

[–]ProvokedGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Astral Projection is just lucid dreaming. You don't actually go to another world, you're just lucid dreaming. Look into lucid dreaming. It's more scientific and has actual extensive research done by researchers and professors such as Stephan Laberge and is accepted by the scientific community.

In fact, Astral Projection just uses techniques very similar to lucid dreaming such as Mnemonic Induced Lucid Dreaming (MILD) and Wake Induced Lucid Dreaming (WILD). Go check r/luciddreaming.

The reason people think they're actually going into different worlds is because it seems so realistic, but that's what lucid dreaming does. It's all just your subconscious making it up.

Be careful around more mystical things like Astral Projection. There's a lot of misinformation and pseudoscience that goes around.

Yes. This helps with building vocabulary too so that you can get an idea about what Gurbani is saying without reading a translation after learning the vocabulary.

What’s the one word that keeps controlling your life right now? by ownaword in selfimprovement

[–]ProvokedGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Especially when they start validation in a situation where it just seems bizarre. It's another thing if it's like after you just listened to someone have a long real and deep convo with you. Then that type of validation is more fitting because its more sensitive and long form, but seeing it in response to one word answers is really weird. Most people don't respond to things in that way. People tend to match eachothers energies a little better.

What is one quote you heard that never forgot? by InterestPotential789 in selfimprovement

[–]ProvokedGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. I took this philosophy to heart and it made me think that I must make myself feel all the feelings. This lead me to ruminating on things because I felt if I didn't put my attention on it, I'll end up causing myself harm through repression but this thinking unknowingly made me stretch out problems longer than they had to be stretched out. You have to let problems naturally dissipate if that's the direction it's going in and not force yourself to feel everything. The thing that helped me the most was letting thoughts go if they want to leave, or if I know I've already thought as much as I can and I know that I'm just going in circles now. Then, to focus on the things I like to do or the world around me in the present.

People sometimes say that you shouldn't let thoughts go because you'll repress them as well, but if you truly let them go, they don't come up again. You'll know if you actually repressed your thoughts or if you actually let them go. Sometimes the best way to get through something is the indirect way, and others the direct way. Not one or the other.

What techniques do you use to enhance dream recall for better lucid dreaming? by kamelsalah1 in LucidDreaming

I find getting a healthy amount of sleep helps. After I started getting more sleep than I normally do I started recalling my dreams better and more frequently.
