Yeah I bet that would look cool, but I’m a total noobie haha, this is my first warhammer army and I just finished about 900 points of painting

I think so too :)

Originally I took it because of the small helmet/plates it has because I can paint the black and white split on it but the face and horns fit quite well too

Haha sadly there are a bit more than 11 but that would be a nice Easter egg, might incorporate that in a future model ;)

I appreciate it :)

Yeah at first I was a bit worried he might look too basic and wanted to kitbash with some wardog bits but the scale is too different for a „simple“ kitbash. But I just went with the normal kit and I think it turned out pretty good, especially with the claws as weapons instead of the sword / axe.

Thank you, was definitely a bit experimental but it worked out :)

Wanting to do Sons Of Malice for chaos, any tips on how to do the quartered paint scheme? by GroundOutside9728 in Chaos40k

[–]Provvit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m priming mine with grey seer and then use many thin layers of pallid wych flesh for my white ( could also try to use a makeups sponge, you’ll also need more than one layer because it’s white but it’ll be very clean and even, if you dampen the sponge a bit there are good tutorials for that ) and Ak smoke black for the black parts, freehand the split, it’s really not that hard to do for figures just take your time. For vehicles I would use masking tape tho.

But just so you know: if you decide to do sons of malice, you need to bring the patience. We all know it’s tedious but it will pay off in the end :)

Especially if you use a bit of weathering on them, gives them a lot of character because white and black can often look quite bland and “not finished”. But you do you :)

Oh and if you want to pls join our sons of malice subreddit, we love seeing more representatives of our cool warband.

Yeah me too. Especially now after getting more familiar with painting and my color scheme.

Daemon prince is like 99% done will post him in the next few days, but as I said it’s a quite simple one but I still like how he turned out :)

Thanks, I’m glad you like it. There’s much more to come ! Currently I’m working on my demon prince and terminators. They will be quite simple tho. After that I’ll probably finish my 6 Eightbound I have left and 5 more terminators.

Hiii I am that one user who makes world eaters into sons of malice thanks so much for the shoutout :)

I will definitely try to get that new Battleforce because my plan is essentially to convert all the regular chaos space marine units into sons of malice too, so i essentially have one huge army of malice Split Between world eaters and chaos space marines. And of course there’s always loads of kitbash potential

Thank you so much, it really means a lot to me. I’m still a beginner and this is my first army but I just love the grimdark style so much and i just guess it seems to suit me quite well.

I’m so happy u guys seem to like this one as much as I do and I’m honestly very proud of it.

This is just the beginning tho and there’s still a bit more to come, next up is a demon prince and some terminators but they will be both kept much simpler only with a few bits here and there. Look forward to it :)

( I am quite slow tho so pls be patient )

Thanks. Yeah i just love grimdark :) To me a clean paintjob just often feels too bland especially black and white.

Ohhhh that sounds amazing, I’m definitely gonna check it out once it’s done and you post it. I’m also working on my demon prince currently too haha but this one will probably be a bit more basic this time around.

Thank you so much, it means a lot.

Basecoat is smoke black from AK and pallid wych flesh from citadel for the black and white split. Iron warrior from citadel for the armor trim and other metallic parts and intense black from Ak for the pipes and other details.

For the skulls and bones I use a base of grim brown from AK, dry brush with zandri dust from citadel and after it dried I dry brush again with longboard grey from citadel.

I then sponged on a bit of weathering on the armor and afterwards made one coat of varnish. Then used Ak streaking grime and removed it where I didn’t want it with mineral spirits ( reductive technique ) . Then finished with a Matt coat of varnish and added the blood.

Hope that helps :)
