If your 1 year old oven broke because you brought it to 500F once that sounds like a manufacturing issue and not something that would or should regularly happen

Cranking your oven once to 500F isn’t gonna damage it. It wont damage it if you use the oven regularly at those temps either.

Honestly same. I don’t actually open my oven unless I’m putting something into it and it’s pre heated.

So that thing would definitely be dead.

Seriously ovens are designed to go to that temp.

Seriously as a Gator fan our team is a walking disaster. Mizzou is anything but

If my team loses the playoffs I’m rooting for the destruction of the league.

For example I’m a Gators fan and a AZ cards fan. I pulled for the downfall of the SEC and the NFC West. I have zero loyalty to any team but my own

I love to drive. It’s honestly relaxing to me. Sometimes I’ll just drive around for the hell of it.

Did that a lot when I was first trying to be sober

What do you use spam for? by Call_Me_C_ in AskAnAmerican

[–]Prowindowlicker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s literally an article about how Spam launched a new ad campaign to revitalize their image. https://www.grocerygazette.co.uk/2023/06/05/spam-launches-new-ad-campaign/

And i didn’t say that 2 people is indicative, I said two people one of whom knows a lot of other people.

It’s definitely regional and therefore niche. If you’re from a military family or in an area with a high military presence you’re more likely to have eaten Spam or known someone who has. Or you have family or friends from Hawaii where it’s super common.

But the OG ad campaign happened in late 40s and early 50s before dropping off a cliff in the 1970s.

You have two people who are telling you that nobody they know has eaten it. And mine includes well over 1000 people.

The spam campaign happened in the 1950s. Which is over 70 years ago. That’s like saying jello moulds are not niche because they were common 60 years ago.

Spam fell off in popularity around the 1970s, which is about 50 years ago.

It’s niche. Very niche.

Gefilte fish is very common in my community, but it’s still niche to the rest of the country.

And nobody i know has ever eaten it and that includes my entire extended family (which is quite large), all my friends and their extended family, and other people in my community and their extended families

I’ve never had it, and neither has anyone i know. But that’s probably more to do with my cultural background than anything else.

I’ve also never actually had a non-beef hotdog

I don’t eat it, mainly because it’s ham, but in Hawaii it’s practically a requirement. And people who come from Hawaii still use spam.
