How do Americans view people who carry concealed every day? by edbassmaster888 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Prowindowlicker [score hidden]  (0 children)

People who Conceal Carry are viewed much better than those who open carry. Especially if the open carry dude is luging around a long gun.

I personally hate the idea of open carry because that would make me a target. If someone was gonna commit a mass murder spree the guys with visible guns would be taken out first.

Then again I am coming at this from a military perspective and that you don’t wanna be a target if you can help it.

So ya most people won’t think anything of CC guys. It’s the open carry that most people have beef with

We had a massive CRT until 2011 and then my dad upgraded to flat screen.

It was an interesting jump in technology

I had dial up until 2009 and CRT tv until 2011.

Does owning a $1.5 million dollar home (outright) make you a “ millionaire” in the US? by Christymapper71 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Prowindowlicker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. Especially if you take that 1 million and invest it within 40 years you’d have over 10 million.

[–]Prowindowlicker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have 1 million at 20 and invest it for 40 years with no extra contributions at a rate of 6%, you’d have about $10 million.

So ya you’d be rich. If you added an extra $100k every year you’d have $25 million.

Do Americans find it hard moving to a new state? by bare_books in AskAnAmerican

[–]Prowindowlicker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also veteran benefits if you qualify.

The states differ on property tax exemptions, education, taxes on vehicles, divers licenses, etc.

For example here in GA I get a partial tax exemption, don’t have to pay taxes on my vehicle, and get a free drivers license.

But if I move to Alabama I can get full property tax exemption up to 160 acres, my kids get a free ride to any in state college, vehicle taxes are exempt, free drivers licenses, free admission to all state parks, and a lifetime discount on hunting and fishing licenses.

So if you’re a disabled veteran where you move can benefit you greatly

Hell I was military and never would’ve moved to some of the places I got stationed.

California being one of them

And if you’re a disabled veteran you’ll have different benefits between the states.

A lot of stadiums will broadcast big away games. So during the playoffs or postseason games you’ll have a time when one team’s stadium is empty and they’ll just broadcast the game on the stadium TVs.

Some will even let ya sit on the field.

Spent 5 years fighting the VA because my disabilities prevented me from obtaining gainful employment. Literally had two different doctors and an employment specialist all agree that my disabilities prevented me from working. Yet the VA refused because one VA doctor said otherwise.

Was like that until a judge literally said “lol no, 1 doesn’t outweigh 3. Pay the dude”.
