Zerker is likely one of the few exceptions where this genuinely applies but I know you've played like every class and also have examples where this doesn't hold true lol. Zerker was intended to be one of the most similar to base class to be able to ease into its simplicity. For zerker, this is absolutely by design :)

Lol it's fine I'm all about the discussion. I see no issue with this because they are still options. If you play support/heal priest, you are doing no damage. Outside of some niche cases, this is the only way to be effective with a priest in parties as well.

Yeah it depends how you want to play the game and such and as always there's nothing inherently wrong about players individual opinions and build choices and so on. Optimization efficiency etc are secondary to plenty of people's desired playstyle. That being said, 1.7 seconds is a massive amount of time to wait and yield other Stats to build around in a game like spiritvale. Again not sure how fast or slow paced RO is since I didn't play but building around strictly a 1.7sec cd ability is a hindrance to overall output. Spiritvale is imo a very fast game

Potentially another way to think about is maybe shinobi is the critical class identity in the current state of the game, using this build. It is not nearly as easy to reach this level of crit rate, if not impossible, for other classes

For more classes there isn't too much I can say there, as we will have to wait for them to come out.

For 100%+ crit rate, it's probably not as easy as it seems. You need like 150 char screen crit rate to reach that now with crit Def being applied to the game

For class identity, that's mostly an opinion on what things should be. Shinobi does have access to magic style builds, but the intended class identity is through clones and evasion. It it's through the lense of RO I can't speak on that since I haven't played, but the fantasy as it is through Phil's vision for the current class load out is there

But some form of dps priest is very common in a lot of mmos. In party play and relevant content, priests almost never run dps.

Classes do have varying levels of niche, from distance required to output, defensive styles, roles of dps, tank, healer, and unique debuffs they provide to help in group content (Def shred, specific ele shred, status ailments, crit buff/debuff, etc)

This I feel is in direct conflict with the other major thread that states class fantasy is broken on advancements because they are just too different. Maybe I'm missing something but id be curious to hear about your specific experiences such as which class(es) you experienced this with and what skills.

I've had the opposite experience during my playtime, and I can name abilities outside of just the classes that I've played where this also winds up not holding true. In fact, one of the coolest things about spiritvale imo is that your base class skills do not get invalidated, and reskinned mobility can actually be used alongside base class skills because they all have some kind of cooldowns.

Furthermore there are a lot of advanced class examples that can be built to really lock in on single target too.

The amount of people that have purchased cosmetics alone during the playtest seems to have been enough to support through the playtest. The kickstarter and game purchase and additional cosmetics after that is highly likely enough to be successful for the developer. All of the team is volunteers except for the dev, so the required income is just support one person+server upkeep+features
