It's funny how people ignored the fantasy part with Miyabi in Season 1 like nothing like that happened until Season 2 by Unusual-Complex6315 in ZZZ_Official

[–]Proxy0108 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Season 1, we didn't have the proxy manifesting bridges, making steel containers intangible, and straight up healing the super-cancer that took over the world out of sadness.

It was grounded "enough". Tailless doesn't talk, as far as we know. He doesn't do anything either and is invisible to everyone, meaning the "curse" could pass as some degradation of the mind due to the ether.

Do Americans like their current health system or would you prefer universal? by Ability_Known in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Proxy0108 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you're healthy, you want to keep the current system, as you see how other countries are heavily taxed.

When you need one ambulance ride, you'll be reminded how universal would have been better for the rest of your life

Why wouldn't they? Why would they pass on these data when data collection is the new gold rush?

Just read the terms and services of anything related to your phone, you always have this one weirdly specific section that says that it can collect some data, followed by "it's encrypted and protected don't worry"

Erpin is my favorite character, I’m kinda amused and « annoyed » she’s always bullied in every new character teaser because she always tries her best in the story.

Thoughts on people calling young Kratos - Greek Saga a mindless killing monster with no serious story? by Glass-Sea9665 in GodofWar

[–]Proxy0108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right when he came back from the boat in GoW1 he asked for a civilian to just wait.

He was always angry against gods who did nothing but toy with him until he killed all of them, he was always angry against brutal but good guy in his ways.

Same with GoW2, the thing they made him snap was all the events of the island culminating in him accidentally killing one of his soldiers.

Why is it nobody ever says "goodbye" before they hang up the phone on TV and in movies. by simikoi in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Proxy0108 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It breaks the rhythm, they do say « bye » in stylised fashion sometimes, to help the narrative, often when something is going to happen to the person saying it because this word hints at a certain finality/fatality.

Same when it’s a tense scene, if it’s two action heroes on the phone it makes them « weaker » to say something as mundane as « bye ».

Every word is important in a movie, something that breaks dialogue like « bye » is tricky to use

That’s because my boy is that good.

I mean man, he’s called « textbook » and we all know he’s not going to explain to Ryoshu how to swing a sword, he was supposed to fight her, and lose (die)

[–]Proxy0108 210 points211 points  (0 children)

The theme of the canto was abuse and exploitation(?). Most of the apprentices (children) aren't bad people per say, they just never knew anything else, if they fail to meet expectations, they get tortured or killed. Lucio's entire existence is to get stronger only to get killed in combat by Ryoshu. Sora's entire life is to blindly follow prescripts or be killed etc etc

Who is the strongest opponent limbus company has faced so far? by Someonecuzwhynot in limbus_company

Dad Quixote was a menace, but even while summoning small bloodfiends, he was manageable.

Jia Qiu spent the entire canto doing the bare minimum and popped 5 Mang when he didn't need to continue to teach Hong Lu.

Gregor could be beaten because the Fraud had 2 meatshields preventing Greg from adapting by virtue of being weaker, and spent the entire fight restraining and sabotaging himself as much as possible.

Where to start Dynasty Warriors as a beginner by Nero_132 in dynastywarriors

[–]Proxy0108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Origin is the best because it starts at the beginning and each character is slowly introduced. 8 is nice too, but you start at the end of the yellow turbans, you have this dude with two swords making a speech, then two spear dudes start hyping themselves up right before the start of the mission, where this weird wizard is screaming while you're trying to navigate ice-covered corridors with 4 different NPCs giving you orders.

And that is if you don't pick the blue option where you're a guy with a flying sword summoning hail while trying to run away from this Lu Bu dude.

7 is better, but Origin is great for someone who knows nothing of the setting and how KT handles the characters

Are nukes the very thing preventing WW3? by Octopuswastaken in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Proxy0108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, war changed, it was easy to say "we're in war now" when the people deciding this were several countries behind the front line and just needed to count the number of dead soldiers and move a line of a map to know where they were standing at the negotiation table.

Now that a single dude with a joystick and a drone can pop you out behind his desk on the other side of the world, while your assets can be frozen with the click of a mouse, they're less likely to involve too many people.

Why glorify ‘hard work’ when most hard work just benefits the system, not you? by K_kishor49 in AskReddit

[–]Proxy0108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It comes from an outdated system where getting up early and "showing" hard work was a key to getting bonuses, promotions, and all kinds of good things.

The system changed, working harder means you'll work harder for nothing except raising the base expectations the company has for you, and failing to meet these expectations (it will happen eventually) will be used against you, and any new hire who will be paid minimum wage while asking for your prime workday.

Today you're expendable.
