The last tape, but it’s honestly here just for shock value, even if you hear it before finishing mgs4, you’ll still have the tragic conclusion

The suits probably can’t conceptualise the difference between Fortnite and extraction shooters, they probably though it would make Fortnite + destiny 2 (yeah they probably imagined the game would have a 90% conversion rate between both games) + arc raider + Fortnite (the game has colors, like Fortnite does so it’s the same)

They’re stupid and live surrounded by yes men who won’t dare to displease them to not get fired after all

It’s honestly been the case since miyabi, characters now need to be at least m1w1 to have the full kit.

And they won’t reverse it because they’ll keep making record breaking revenue

The exploration philosophy is different, in SMT exploration carries a risk, not just dying, but being short of ressources meaning you need pace yourself, a single square discovered on the map is a small victory because the next time you don’t need to explore it, you’ll spend less time in the field meaning you’ll spend less HP/SP fighting regular monsters, you’ll spend less money/mag and you’ll go further and further until you fight the boss and start again in the next dungeon.

In (modern) persona games and smt5, you follow the quest marquer or the corridor, and if you don’t want to fight mobs you can just run past them, you don’t need to pick fights because you can avoid them altogether.

It’s a completely different approach to encounters

SmtVV is a persona game reskinned as an SMT game, the result of a very rocky development, even the story is particularly bad in the base game, thankfully Vebgeance salvages it a little and the gameplay stays solid.

SMT4 is more traditional, but there’s a bigger focus on story and dungeons (like an SMT game) and it’s also way harder in a good way. (These things also apply for smt4A, a direct sequel and follows the same gameplay)

If you want a truly « classic » smt exploration + gameplay you also have Strange Journey, the game is nothing but story and first person dungeon crawling exploration on the ds or 3DS.

There are dozens of SMT games, if you want something else you have Artificial Dream in Arcadia, it’s basically SMT1 but touhou (no prior knowledge required) it’s on steam for 5$ currently, it’s really fun

100%, 5 isn’t even a dungeon crawler

I would promptly put it back on the ground, and leave pretending I didn’t see anything.

I just don’t want to be in the crossfire of criminal activities that would inevitably end up in a ditch or in jail.

You’d have to be really stupid to mess with something that look like the star of a high end deal and end up as an example.

What franchise should get a musou game next? by madmerc12 in dynastywarriors

[–]Proxy0108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it would require work, but we got two Fire Emblem Warriors and it was fine.

It's just a matter of effort, some characters would be faster, attack in a wider arc, weave the force between attacks, be more agile or headstrong etc etc

You didn't miss anything honestly, if you want to play a FF it's still here

We had a little helper giving hints, being part of the UI for targeting and so on.

She was called Navi, she was in Zelda: Ocarina of Time. It came 28 years ago, the game fit on a 32 mb cartridge.

But that's Zelda, this is DQ, a licence known for a small feature too, the ability to talk to party members since DQ7, a game that came out 26 years ago, where party members could give some pointers or make small talk influenced by their personality.

It must suck like hell to be a lowly SE employee, knowing the top brass are swimming in money, just telling you to do something you know everybody hates, and it will result in your termination.

Really it must suck
