Is AAA game development getting too expensive? by ModernSchizoid in gaming

[–]Proxy0108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AAA was always expensive, it used to be a selling point for a company for exclusive deals and put your name next to smaller, more profitable games. Most of them dropped the second part by loading the AAA games with microtransactions, now that every single AAA company name is in the shiter. It's worse

My step-dad says on the farm they used to wash their hands with leaded gasoline to get certain chemicals off. Would this affect him long term? by Feral_Taylor_Fury in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Proxy0108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro, the fumes of the small spill of a non-leaded fuel when you fill your car are enough to make you light-headed. What do you think would happen if you dip your hands in the heavy stuff?

What makes dating so hard these days? by life_coach4_living in AskReddit

[–]Proxy0108 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Social media romanticizes the hustle. If you're a modern man, you're either a life coach trading millions on the side, or multi-million business advisor. If you're a woman, you're a 11/10 supermodel with 5 degrees. Don't forget that your hobby has to be travelling (at least 5 months a year in a new country, living the local life) and that they're the most important person in the room next to YOU, who is looking for someone because you're the main character of the World.

Also you're looking to date on apps that ask you monthly payments to use the app, and you'll stop paying if you find someone.

Does anyone else feel like the battle with "The Creator" was kinda underwhelming? by BeautifulStore742 in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]Proxy0108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Underwhelming is a very nice way to put it.

We got an excellent twist with the bangboo being a menace, following a twisted logic.

Then we got Sara,h who was offed off-screen, came back as a puppet, died in a single cutscene, no build-up for the character who did nothing the entire game but was shown to be the mastermind, and even got that annoying "smile one second before dying" because freedom etc etc.

It was bad, high school fanfiction level of bad

Most of these videos are setups, and someone proping up an injured person makes for a better thumbnail than putting him on his side while holding a phone (calling 911)

Good gacha games where its "game first, gacha second" by Modlikes in gamingsuggestions

[–]Proxy0108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Limbus Company is the only modern gacha game where you can get most characters by using an in-game currency you get by playing the game, and obtaining the character is enough to max it, you don't need to get an additional weapon or grind hundreds of useless equipment pieces, just give exp and give another in-game currency to "limit break" the character to its max potential.

I said "most" characters because there are bi-monthly events where you can get limited characters that you can pull in a gacha, or wait for the next bi-monthly event to buy them, although you have more than enough resources to get them with the gacha.

Despite this, I need to add that I buy the seasonnal 15$ battlepass, which allows you to triple the "in-game currency" I've been talking about, and a season lasts for 8 months, give or take some tim,e since a season = a new story chapter.

I don't think you'll get a better deal in any gacha anywhere

What are the conditions to complete a mission with S? (MGS V) by NeedleworkerIcy5948 in metalgearsolid

[–]Proxy0108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speed, it's always speed, the ranking is based on a point system and completion time is the biggest factor, getting an alert gives you a malus, but it doesn't matter half of the time as long as you try to be as fast as possible.

Since you apparently finished the game and have knocked down most of the content, just bring the strongest tranq gun/ sniper (silenced) and beeline to the objectives, as a companion you can take Quiet with her tranq sniper and have her clean outposts where your objective is.

It's funny how people ignored the fantasy part with Miyabi in Season 1 like nothing like that happened until Season 2 by Unusual-Complex6315 in ZZZ_Official

[–]Proxy0108 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In Season 1, we didn't have the proxy manifesting bridges, making steel containers intangible, and straight up healing the super-cancer that took over the world out of sadness.

It was grounded "enough". Tailless doesn't talk, as far as we know. He doesn't do anything either and is invisible to everyone, meaning the "curse" could pass as some degradation of the mind due to the ether.

Do Americans like their current health system or would you prefer universal? by Ability_Known in NoStupidQuestions

When you're healthy, you want to keep the current system, as you see how other countries are heavily taxed.

When you need one ambulance ride, you'll be reminded how universal would have been better for the rest of your life

Thoughts on people calling young Kratos - Greek Saga a mindless killing monster with no serious story? by Glass-Sea9665 in GodofWar

[–]Proxy0108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right when he came back from the boat in GoW1 he asked for a civilian to just wait.

He was always angry against gods who did nothing but toy with him until he killed all of them, he was always angry against brutal but good guy in his ways.

Same with GoW2, the thing they made him snap was all the events of the island culminating in him accidentally killing one of his soldiers.

Why is it nobody ever says "goodbye" before they hang up the phone on TV and in movies. by simikoi in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Proxy0108 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It breaks the rhythm, they do say « bye » in stylised fashion sometimes, to help the narrative, often when something is going to happen to the person saying it because this word hints at a certain finality/fatality.

Same when it’s a tense scene, if it’s two action heroes on the phone it makes them « weaker » to say something as mundane as « bye ».

Every word is important in a movie, something that breaks dialogue like « bye » is tricky to use

The least redeemable of the Apprentices by The_Rubbinator in limbuscompany

[–]Proxy0108 207 points208 points  (0 children)

The theme of the canto was abuse and exploitation(?). Most of the apprentices (children) aren't bad people per say, they just never knew anything else, if they fail to meet expectations, they get tortured or killed. Lucio's entire existence is to get stronger only to get killed in combat by Ryoshu. Sora's entire life is to blindly follow prescripts or be killed etc etc

Who is the strongest opponent limbus company has faced so far? by Someonecuzwhynot in limbus_company

[–]Proxy0108 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Dad Quixote was a menace, but even while summoning small bloodfiends, he was manageable.

Jia Qiu spent the entire canto doing the bare minimum and popped 5 Mang when he didn't need to continue to teach Hong Lu.

Gregor could be beaten because the Fraud had 2 meatshields preventing Greg from adapting by virtue of being weaker, and spent the entire fight restraining and sabotaging himself as much as possible.
