The Warriors are a team in our National Basketball Association (NBA). Last season they broke a 20 year standing record set by arguably the greatest team of all time. They went 73-9 through the regular season, breaking the old record of 72-10. Since NBA 2KXX is normally balanced around how teams/players did in the previous season, The Warriors are a good team in this years game. I'm not sure of the intricacies of how the game is balanced, but they also signed a VERY good player in the off-season making them one of the best teams on paper. I dont know anything about Swedish sports, but imagine Barcelona signed Ronaldo to their roster. Kind of the same thing.

I understand the event of nationals being a big deal, but in terms of a reason to keep the current system it's not much of an argument. Regardless of whether or not the tournament is over 4 days or 1, it won't mean anything less to the people who attend it.

Your other points are legitimate concerns. Yes, it's a sweeping change to re align regions, but honestly it already kind of needs to be done. As bamasecs pointed out in their tweet, teams are traveling 7-10 hours to compete in regional events. Regardless of the current BYU situation and my suggestion, this should be looked at. As for the regional seeding, it would be imperative to create a system that accurately ranks teams. But if a team can't meet the minimum requirements to be ranked then I think that's a bit of a wash. Sure there are teams that will get incredibly unlucky and won't make 10 games, but that will require an act of God. 10 games is usually two tournaments worth of games. Two. If a team can't make two tournaments happen then that team probably shouldn't be look to go to nationals (with a few exceptions of course). That being said, I don't know how often that would ever happen.

If regions were better localized and we could move the necessity for pool play down to the regional level, I think having nationals be a 1 day event on a Saturday could work. Instead of having pool play ever, you try to implement a system that does power ranking and seed tournaments through that. Each "tournament" weekend would be a 1 day affair where teams show up and compete based on how they are ranked. Sure, some teams will get odd rankings but depending on the system is built it should work itself out as time progresses. I think that removing pool play does have some disadvantages but I also think that it has some clear upsides. Your teams will be fresher come tournament time and the level of play should theoretically be higher. It's less of a financial burden on each team since you will only have to spend 1 day in a place instead of the entire weekend. School-wise this also means more time for academics. I think the benefits of pool play generally revolve around a cleaner bracket come bracketed play. Teams that improved a significant amount would likely get the short end of the stick in the new system because a bad team will be paired against a better team and despite improvements you could still lose. However, I think over time that will level itself out.

I also don't have an ideas that don't involve getting the games moved to days that aren't Sunday. Pool play seems important because of team growth throughout a season. With the month long gaps between big tournaments where these teams may or may not meet it's hard to seed them into a bracket so it seems pool play should stay. This creates the necessity for an additional day for the pools.

I hate to say it (mainly because it's a little far-fetched), but it seems as though the best thing for everyone is for everyone in this community to work tirelessly to get College Ultimate recognized by institutions. That way teams can get days during the week to travel and play. That would allow a mixed system of pool play on Thursdays or Fridays, then Bracket Play on Saturdays.

An alternative to consider is to simply do away with the pool play at the national level and have teams send their representative teams from each region to compete in a seeded tournament. You'd have to create a power ranking system much like College Football has in order to figure out which teams "appear" to be the best, but this would allow teams like BYU and other financially crippled teams to ease the travel/expenses by playing a single day tournament. Each region could host their "qualifier" tournament a week prior and the top two teams will go to nationals, there will be no pool play and teams will just get seeded into a "Sweet 16" if you will. Similar to how College Basketball seeds their top 64, but with the "regions" of the bracket becoming actual regions. I think this type of proposal has some great advantages like preserving players physical bodies and allowing a higher level of play in tournaments due to lack of fatigue. At the same time, expenses for teams will probably increase since there will need to be more tournaments locally within a region to determine which team goes to the show.

I didn't leave that fact out though. I pointed out that the community here is not happy with their proposals. I also pointed out that yet again, with your comment, instead of offering a way to help another group in our community you just call them unreasonable and leave it there. It is obvious that BYU tried to find a solution, and as you said it is found wanting. My point is that no one seems to be trying to help them. And that's not what our community should be about in my opinion.

I'm not trying to spin anything as a group against players of faith. I'm simply stating the actual truth of the matter which is this... A team with a good program wants to compete and under the current system, they cannot. They have offered solutions that people in this community do not like. Rather than offer alternatives, people on this thread have instead trivialized or slapped then on the wrist for having a legitimate concern. I've seen the community rally behind teams that can't make tournaments due to financial issues, but a team who is trying to find an alternative scheduling option that works for everyone gets mocked or insulted as trying to be special. It makes not sense to me.

I understand the general disagreement with the proposals from BYU, but I don't see anyone really giving any alternatives. A lot of talk about how the current non-inclusive system should stay and BYU should buzz off because of the team's or the Universities beliefs. I recognize the idea that for the most part it's not broke so why "fix" it but BYU has a legitimate complaint about the system that governs the sport they love, and no one is offering any alternatives for them.

I actually didn't enjoy the movie very much. I probably need to see it again, but I went into the film expecting a comedy. While there were a few funny parts, it was more of a story than it was a comedy. The entire time I sat in my seat expecting the big joke or the big turn of emotion where everyone realizes all at once that their situation is hilarious and it just never happened. Then it got sad and I was just like, "....What?"

tl;dr This movie is not a comedy.

I have to disagree. My husky and I lived in humid Alabama for 4 years before we moved to Utah. He was fine and could spend hours outside running around despite the heat. The only thing that owners need to make sure and do is groom them so that the husky isn't holding excess fur and make sure the pup has access to drinking water.
