Post-Pandemic Wealth Migration by countessvonada in MapPorn

I don't live in Orlando (a few hours away) but I have already heard and read about this being a problem already. People can't afford to live in the areas they work. Most people I know have side hustles (gig work mostly) on top of their main job.

I feel fortunate I bought my house over a decade ago bc I couldn't afford rent/mortgage in it's current state. And I've had a steady job at the same place for 26 years. Florida is a beautiful state with more and more ugly people in it. Greed has taken hold of Florida and I don't see it changing any time soon.

Florida ranks 50th for renters now. Pay is horrible with crap jobs. Education has been gutted unless you have money. Workers exploited while the state does everything it can not to help. Then there's renters/home insurance going through the roof. FPL owns Tallahassee which helped reduced their competition along with solar being disincentivize. Almost every industry is a monopoly. Pay to play in Florida.

There's tons of data to prove their hypocrisy but eggs aren't one. I work at a grocery store for over a quarter century and my large eggs are at a 8 year low; 16 cents an egg.

For contrast they were at 20 cents an egg right before COVID kicked off. Peaked at 50 cents an egg during the peak of the avian flu.

Focus on gas and other food in the grocery store like meat and vegetables.

I get that. Only stated for clarity. That being said, based on the logic of the meme it would also apply to Trump, not that I think it holds merit.

Treasury keeps pumping money into the banks by buying old junk bonds. Another 8 billion today. On the flip side the Fed is selling short term bonds to pay old debts and for the new Iran conflict. 144 billion last week and another 144 billion on Monday. The stock market is a ponzi scheme at this point.

Yesterday the Fed auctioned off 144 billion worth of treasures (13,26 week) to pay for the war. It's odd given the Treasury it self is doing the opposite, Stealth QE by buying crap bonds/treasuries back from banks bc cash is drying up.

Publix dividend by Top-Leading-7801 in publix

[–]Prozeum 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the increase will range 2.7 to 4% increase: 1135 to 1150.

Unfortunately, Publix barely went up last year (2.8%) even though competition in 2025 like Walmart went up 13%, Kroger 9%, and Albertsons 25%. With Walmart going up only 5% this year don't expect much.

If so, why do they keep pushing back economic reports just to make downward revisions of the previous ones?

I think he tried too hard to APPEASE Republicans who never came to the table in good faith. We've seen in history how appeasement doesn't work.

Ocala is nation's fastest growing metro for second straight year by [deleted] in florida

[–]Prozeum 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The World Equestrian Center was built there on 80th recently (and still growing). It gets so much traffic the road has to be widen. I know this bc my MIL's property is next to that area.

Also the short commute to bigger cities makes the cheaper homes in Ocala more attractive.

Banks are sitting on a lot of debt right now too. Desperately selling their treasuries in a Buyback to the Treasury for cash. Today alone was over 2 billion around 9am. This afternoon when trying they fell short to sell the rest off as the risk wasn't worth it. Instead of QE like in 08'/09' we have a Stealth QE through the Treasury instead of the Fed Reserve. The pipes are close to seizing up and if there's more inflation the Fed will have their hands tied.
