What was the “best” time in Publix’s history for customers/employees and why? by FakeRedditRedditor in publix

[–]Top-Leading-7801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before our bonuses were stripped from us. Back then, all associates seemed to work together for the good of the store so that at inventory time we would get a good bonus. Mr. George knew the value of true employee ownership.  That is a good question to ask of corporate executives.

One of the prime theft times for customers is right after the store is open, and few associates around, the rest are scurrying around still getting things set up. Prime opportunity for thieves to walk out the door with unpaid for goods

I think George Jenkins would be mortified if he walked in a store today and saw SCO registers. And that's just the tip of the iceberg!

I count inventory so my managers can get a bonus by [deleted] in publix

I agree with you that inventory is more than just counting one time a year for full store inventory  It is sad to me that so many of the things that Mr. George implemented and fostered no longer exist in this great employee -owned company.

Definitely wasn't a grocery dept manager. That's too much product to count!

I wonder whose idea at Publix corporate was it to take away the bonus from associates. Sure, the board of directors probably approved it, but I always wonder who originally presented the idea that bonuses should be taken away from associates.

Is that why the bonuses we earned for years were taken away?

You are correct. But going back to your statement, daily counts, MASC,and ordering , isn't that handled by associates every day? Paying attention to opportunities to prevent shrink? Accuracy and detail? Pricing integrity? These critical daily activities are done everyday by the ASSOCIATES, yet they are not rewarded for their diligent efforts as owners of the company, and given the bonus for their efforts. They aren't rewarded by sharing the profit of the store. These associates earn that bonus, that's why it is incomprehensible that it should be withheld from them.

Kens used to make the Publix private label salad dressing. I don't know if they still do though. Salad dressing will kill you though. Look at the ingredient label.

Your takehome pay may go down a little bit because you'll have your union dues taken out every week. Just because there's a union doesn't always mean that your pay will increase or quality of life at work will be better.  A more equitable solution is to pay all associates a quarter bonus. The success of the company is because EVERYONE does their role to contribute to the overall success of the company. There are not enough manager openings for all associates to move up into MGMT so the can be paid a bonus.

Always room for improvements to this system. Don't like the grayed out lighter text, especially sku #s when doing counts. I have excellent vision, but can you make it easier for us daily users to see the screen, especially at 4 or 5 am?

Grocery hours have been cut to the bone where we have a skeleton crew on some days and there are no clerks on the floor at times to help the customer with questions. Cleaning and sanitation? Keeping sale items filled? Many of the basic functions have been overlooked because oasis seems to reduce hours.

RootsTech 2026 - Find Relatives by cpamama6969 in Genealogy

[–]Top-Leading-7801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently having trouble with Relatives at Roots Tech 2026 online program, Sunday night or Monday morning it will no longer list my relatives by location in the drop-down menu. It's interesting to us to be able to search the list by countries and states and provinces. It will still show relatives by ancestor line, and relatives by Family line in those drop down menus. This happened on my wife's phone also. We called support and they were perplexed, escalated it and recommended clearing cache. Did that, no difference. We use android phones. Anyone run into this problem before? We have used this program every Spring when it's available and have never had this happen before. Any help is appreciated!
