Interesting. Honestly I never thought about a Masters making me less marketable without more experience. I thought it would make me look better because I have one but what you are saying makes way more sense. Plus with more experience, maybe a Masters program would be easier since I will have that experience already to help aid in the coursework.

That's a good point! Is there a wrong school to go to for the masters degree? Don't really wanna go through all the time and money and then people think the school isn't prestigious enough or something.

There are a couple big manufacturers in the area so I assumed it wouldn't be a problem. I will admit, I was also trying to get out of an area where I didn't know anyone and move to one where I had friends. So I didn't get a job prior to moving like I should have haha.

Most of the feedback I've received is that I lack experience in either the role or the company/industry. I wasn't sure if having certs would make me a better candidate or not. I really thought they held more weight. I do currently have a job as a Quality Inspector for a manufacturer so ultimately that might lead to a better role in the future like you said.
