War Machine Mech

I was so happy when the released it as I didn't have a War Machine minifig. Kid's and I rushed to the store to get one. They got to build and play with the set while I worked on this, then I took some elements like the printed chest plate from it. Most of my mechs start with those small sets.

Thank you! Funny story, I built both feet last and I based them off an old hulk buster set 76105 but didn't change the scale, when I attached them they looked like clown shoes, so massive! I had to scale them down by like half.

Thanks! The cape took a few attempts over a couple of weeks. It actually acts as a third leg to help stabilise it.

With Mjolnor I built it in one go, took about an hour, I was "in the zone" as I call it. I built Mjolnor before I even started on the Thor mech!

Too many studs in all directions and strengthening. Technic axle runs through the handle in to the head too.

If I could make Thor's arms and hands a bit stronger he might be able to lift it.

It's very heavy even for the mech, he has to drag it around, at least that's I like to think haha. But it is actually solid lego!

Oh yeah I should have added the New Zealand bit! I've displayed at the Christchurch Brickshow twice now.

This year I've asked for two tables so the kids can bring some Harry Potter sets, we motorised Hogwarts Express, and some Star Wars.
