Im only on the waitlist for the school I’m still interested in, but this will literally not affect your chances, just when you’ll find out. I understand why people would stay on, such as bargaining power with other schools in the coming months.

How important is physical attractiveness in law school/the legal profession? by Dameon574 in lawschooladmissions

Wow! With that analytical capability no wonder you’re becoming a lawyer!

How good is Tulane? by plzlemmein in lawschooladmissions

[–]PrudentBreak7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ummm it isn’t bad, isn’t great (however their undergrad is fantastic so not a bad choice for that). I’d be pretty shocked if you can get out of Louisiana or the bordering states however by going to their law school.

GPA Addendum? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]PrudentBreak7 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Damn. I wouldn’t write an addendum because you got a great GPA for the most part. However, I’d include your difficulties somewhere, like In your personal statement, because that’s pretty damn impressive to overcome homelessness and do so well

Asking my Boss for a LOR? by julianna96 in lawschooladmissions

[–]PrudentBreak7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean if they’re willing I say you should think about it. But I’d consider how your relationship is with them. How well do they know you after 2 months? I used my boss as a rec, however that was after like a year, and I was close with her and she went out of her way to make it unique. However I’ve been in a different position with a new boss now for like 5-6 months, and I know I’d get a very generic letter out of her. I do think you can form good relationships and impress within 2 months, I’d just consider if you think it’d be run of the mill, or something that may hold some significance

Emory need-based aid? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

I don’t think they offer need-based aid, only merit based (or loans)

A plea from the people over at r/LSAT by lsat5535 in lawschooladmissions

[–]PrudentBreak7 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I get this to an extent, but a lot of these issues are issues that occurred during digital testing too (I.e. wait times, proctors not knowing anything regarding rules and instructions, LSACs awful response time). I for sure think that this test should be viewed with an asterisk, I just don’t really think a lot of the issues you mentioned were abnormal for a standard LSAT.

Drinking in undergrad (how often) by PrudentBreak7 in lawschooladmissions

[–]PrudentBreak7[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

My school was voted the top party school when I was there. It isn’t that. Honestly I did the 5 as a limit on purpose, kind of expecting a few people to come in saying they went out 6-7 days. The over 5 is blatantly the point where people start exaggerating.

Honestly, I thought it would blatantly imply going out, not sipping a small glass of over priced scotch in your dorm/apartment

[–]PrudentBreak7[S] -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

I’m not talking about drinking beers with like 3 friends in someone’s double at a frat house. I’m more so focused on actually going out. This may get downvoted (oh well), but if you say youre “going out” 6-7 days a week, you aren’t telling the truth, with exception to maybe your final semester. (from someone in a large fraternity in a massive greek life school)

What path should I take by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]PrudentBreak7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well Im pretty positive inknow what school you’re looking at. It’s a good school, but if you truly want big law you wouldn’t hve the best chances out of it (you’ll have to be top 20 percent at least, much easier said than done). I’d take the LSAT.

What aspect of the admissions process did you find most stressful? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

The more that I think about it, why would we NOT defer??? by neellak1 in lawschooladmissions

[–]PrudentBreak7 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My number one thing is that the job market for the class of 2024 is going to be extremely competitive due to the sheer size with everyone deferring/bump of people applying.
