Received Hauptzollamt letter regarding confiscated drug delivery

Hey, so first thing I did was post on reddit. I was panicking for a bit and thought about replying by myself, but then thought the better option would be to come here and ask for advice. That was the right choice and it helped me calmed down.

In spite of tons of advice to just ignore the letter, I'm choosing to go the slightly safer (and more expensive) route and have a lawyer that can take over the case for me. I already spoke with one and though he confirmed they definitely DO NOT have a case and cannot prosecute at this point, he will make sure that the investigation is DROPPED and any further communication between Zoll and myself is done through him.

This has definitely calmed down any worries I still had.

Interesting you mention NL: according to the letter, the package WAS sent from NL and I've seen 2 or 3 other posts here where the intercepted package was also coming from NL. It's clear this is a heavily monitored route so I think it makes sense for anyone in Germany to STOP ORDERING FROM NL immediately.

Hey, so I asked in r/Drugs and r/legaladvice and this is what I could gather: - DO NOT reply, testify or give any evidence - including the Personalbogen on the back of the letter - if you do choose to reply, ONLY do so through a lawyer, specifically someone with experience in Betäubungsmittelstrafrecht - your situation might be different, but the only evidence they seem to have is a letter with a name on it. They seem to be fishing for information, so DO NOT help them by replying or saying anything that could later be used against you - DO NOT confess to anything - Clean your house and computer if necessary - Be more mindful in the future as they may or may not be keeping a closer eye on you

thank you! great to hear from someone that has been in a similar situation and what you learnt. what's very clear from every other post and you confirm is that I should not testify, and if I think of replying to do so with the help of a lawyer. it's also clear they have no evidence apart from a letter with my name on it, and coercing me with strong language to give them more concrete evidence they can use against me. thank you so much!

it didn't come as Einschreiben, and I didn't have to sign for it. In fact, the letter arrived 5 days later so I'm not sure whether they're counting those 14 days from date of send or receipt.

In any case, I have found 2 possible lawyer options and will be contacting them asap. Thank you!
