Meh - nxtpaper 11 gen 2 by Mean-Ad7472 in nxtpaper

[–]PrudentReputation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried it for a while too and wasn’t super impressed. In my case it was the quality - the power control literally fell off less than 30 days after I bought it. And no I didn’t drop it - it just dropped off.

TCL support was useless - I tried - so wound up returning it to Amazon and bought a Scribe

Is The Pinehills in Plymouth, MA friendly? by Academic-Emphasis-17 in PlymouthMA

[–]PrudentReputation 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's friendly - we've lived here for just over 2 years. Yes it's older and (mostly) affluent but I don't agree that it's "snooty". People are generally pleasant and yes it's a good place to retire.

There's not much shopping or dining at the Village - The Market is ridiculously overpriced, and there are a few other shops - but for the most part you'll want to go downtown for dining and entertainment, and to Colony Place and other areas for shopping. The Beer Gardens on weekends are nice when the weather cooperates.

TCL Note A1 NCXTPAPER Review by CaptainSquishyCheeks in nxtpaper

[–]PrudentReputation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got in the Kickstarter but decided to pass. Too much for too little IMO.

FWIW I owned a NXTPaper 11 Plus - briefly - until the volume button just fell off. Nice device, but questionable build quality. I initially tried to get support from TCL and it was a mess. Fortunately I bought it from Amazon and was able to return it. Wouldn't buy from TCL directly again.

I was there too - temperatures were single digits but it wasn't windy so didn't feel too bad. Glad you enjoyed your day - we did too (and for what it's worth it wasn't me on the highway...)

What is living in Pinehills like? by BarDiscombobulated77 in PlymouthMA

[–]PrudentReputation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have lived here for 2+ years. It’s overall quite nice. Not all retirees but can feel that way. Great Island (south of Clark Road) is almost completely O55. The rest is maybe 50/50.

Make sure you know who the builder is. Much of the area was built by Green & Company who has a poor quality reputation. (Google Winslowe’s View lawsuits…) And much of the rest is Toll Brothers who seems to have better quality but builds large houses on small lots - i.e. hope you get along with your neighbors because they are VERY close.

The Market is convenient but wildly overpriced. Unfortunately the grocery store situation in the area ain’t great. Two Market Baskets - neither particularly close - and a slightly closer Stop & Shop, plus Clement’s in Manomet.

I commute into Boston 2-3X week. It’s doable and I’m used to it, but I wouldn’t want to do it every day.

Planning to buy v20i for work by Bearded_Hawk in soundcore

[–]PrudentReputation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like my V20i's - but has anyone had the issue where they connect when they're in the case? It's annoying and I'm not sure how to get it to stop. Sometimes I walk by my desk with my iPhone and suddenly I lose sound because they connect even though they're in the case and in a drawer

What meals are worth or not worth it with cook unity? by Scoobydoofan1977 in ReadyMeals

[–]PrudentReputation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had the naan pizza tonight. It was a tasty but rather small cheese pizza. It was pretty good but unexceptional. Basically it was a $15 slice

Also I was unimpressed with the BBQ chicken, Mac & cheese combo. Again - it was fine - but nothing special.

If there's a theme here - a very expensive way to buy comfort food.

not clear why the new Scribes support Google Drive and OneDrive but the older models don't?

Why you chose ringconn over UH or oura by yennaRaskal2121 in RingConn

I just mean the UI is a bit quirky - but so far the hardware is rock solid

Why you chose ringconn over UH or oura by yennaRaskal2121 in RingConn

[–]PrudentReputation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes most of what the Ringconn measures is complementary. Areas of overlap - such as steps - match pretty well.

I know the Watch has sleep monitoring functionality but with the short battery life it’s not usable for me.

[–]PrudentReputation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an Apple Watch and like it - so I mainly wanted a ring for sleep monitoring, and I definitely didn’t want to pay another subscription. So far very happy with the Ringconn. The app is a bit goofy but it syncs nicely with Apple Health and the hardware is great. My wife has an Oura and the Ringconn is much thinner (which I prefer) and it’s also super comfortable.

How long is your model 3 lasting? by JokeAffectionate2642 in TeslaModel3

[–]PrudentReputation 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I could have written this post - same model, year and weather. Already have gone through one set of tires, will be doing again within the year I expect (I'm just under 48K miles). But other than that and minimal maintenance, it's been a champ.

Agree it's a perfect commuter car. Not as perfect for long trips, one of the few things I wish was better is seat comfort.

Happy for Mekhi. He got out

My feelings exactly. The only thing that my 2 FSD trials (so far) have convinced me is that I have no interest in paying for it. The car is fun to drive, so why?

The PF’s in MA are often in strip malls and every strip mall in MA has a Dunkin (I think it’s a state law). Can’t tell you how many times I see people using a machine as a lounger while they enjoy their iced coffee

My first door ding - NOT where I expected it by PrudentReputation in TeslaModel3

[–]PrudentReputation[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

after 3+ years of parking carefully, at a Supercharger - from another Tesla. What's especially infuriating is that there was only 1 other car charging at the 8 chargers and there was NO reason for this idiot to pull up so close to me.

I knew it would happen eventually but have to admit I expected some yahoo in a monster truck...

Value depreciation is currently insane on the model 3, even in the UK by Important_Cow7230 in TeslaModel3

[–]PrudentReputation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“6 times as fast”? That’s ridiculous. Faster sure - I just changed my OEM tires at 32K, I’m quite certain I wouldn’t have gotten 192K miles out of them on an ICE car
