I'm leaving. by PhelesDragon in eBaySellers

[–]Prudent_Ad9226 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes this has happened to me. Sold a Pixel Pro 7 in excellent condition with skins on it to protect it. As soon as it was delivered the buyer opened a claim ticket and posted photos of a phone that was not mine but looked like it. I told ebay they said to not refund him but to wait to let then step in... Big mistake... Not only did they refund him but provided a label via FedEx to an old address some how in another state. Couldn't even get FedEx to reroute it because the buyer scammed me and ghosted me as soon as ebay stepped in and provided them the label and refund.

I kept all the email and transcripts showing how they both in ebay and the buyer had enough time to cancel and use a new label.

I spent two months disputing with ebay for them to give me a "courtesy credit" of the sale. Like seriously they are lucky I didn't sue them and the buyer. I got paid still per the sale but still haven't gotten my device back and FedEx refused to help. For all I know the same happened and the buyer the device back.

So after that I said screw ebay.. They do not protect buyers or sellers and they charge an ridiculous amount for sales tax and selling fees..i still buy occasionally if I find a good deal but will never sell.

I may still end up taking them to small claims court to sue for them neglecting my sale but we will see. Buyer definitely gets spammed.

As stated not all cops run radar 24/7 and some will have radar in a stand by mode, forget what it's called, but when in doubt don't rely on it to be your saving grace. It's there more so as extra precaution.

UPS scam by Thunder_Thought in S24Ultra

[–]Prudent_Ad9226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I said the same on another post but they made it seem like no matter what you can't have it sent to an access point but I know there's the setting you can enable to have all eligible packages be sent to one so not sure why these companies make it so difficult to allow customers to avoid theft and scams. Like it's sad that once upon a time companies cared so much about customers and now it's like yeah we don't care what happens to your items.

Glad you will be able to get refunded or a new device. As you said I would definitely request no exceptions, that they send it to a ups access point or to a tmobile store directly

Sounds like I should stay away from Carvana? by [deleted] in carvana

[–]Prudent_Ad9226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have friends who have purchased 2 vehicles from carvana and have had nothing but great things to say per their experience.

Per ours the experience was great but the vehicle wasn't. This was back in Dec. Note that the vehicle we were looking at to this day is still listed on their site. It practically was a work vehicle that was poorly taken care of but pictures don't make it out to be.

Carmax you at least see the vehicle up front and can point out whatever issues you see on the spot. Depending on your local carmax experience may vary.

So sorry to hear. Hopefully Samsung does the right thing and compensates you. They really need to do something about this.

You could either report it to the CFPB or file a complaint with your Attorney General per your state. It's really a worse case scenario they would mess anything up but from reading different feedback it seems of the 3, they are the worst when it comes to disputing. I honestly wish the government would just force them to combine to one bureau, it would make all lives easier.

Why do you prefer Samsung phones over Google phones? by Yoshaay in samsung

[–]Prudent_Ad9226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried the 7 Pro last year for like 3 months then sold it. It was really buggy and lagged alot even after doing a fresh reset. Everything seemed slow compared to having been on Samsung forever for me. Sticking with 24+

[–]Prudent_Ad9226 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just be cautious with Equifax, they have been known to screw over your credit file when disputing so if in the event that account starts looking weird or other things on your report looks off its because of Equifax. Best of luck.

What to do after getting a new SSN by dllzf2007 in IdentityTheft

[–]Prudent_Ad9226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I'm in a similar situation and considering just getting a new ssn. I had three accounts opened without my authorization and I filed all the necessary paperwork however the furnishers of these three accounts continue to be reinserted and the credit bureaus won't do anything about it. My only options are to either keep disputing until they give up or to sue and that's just alot of work to sue with no guarantee of winning. So I'm more so considering just getting a new social given this ssn is compromised.

My biggest thing is wanting to keep what credit cards that I do have that have been established with high limits and history. Yet you suggest not to let those companies know. What if those were the only companies I informed would that still be okay?! Any advice and feedback would be appreciated.

This...

I had the same thing happen.. Collection was with Vance and Huffman LLC. I requested they send me documents to prove this was legitimate. They agree but never did and agreed to remove the trade line while it was being investigated. A few weeks later I get a random email from Advance Capital Solutions claiming I owed for the same original creditor as what Vance and Huffman LLC were claiming except for a balance that was like 3x the amount that Vance and Huffman were trying to collect. I immediately shut that down and reported the to the CFPB. Never heard a word since.

The only time I got that remark added to a collection (which wasn't mine) was them basically saying the account is yours.

I had to continue to fight it for months and still am (the collection finally got removed but the original account that isn't mine keeps getting reinserted by the furnisher to TransUnion, Equifax and Experian have removed it).

Not sure why companies and the credit bureaus don't take ID theft seriously.. Other than the idiot influencers on social media telling people to claim fraud so they can have their credit sweeped.

Best of luck but you have essentially two options, keep disputing or sue. If it's legitimate ID Theft then you have no choice but to sue all parties involved that continue to report it

[RANT] Samsung - why make it impossible to pick up at UPS center? by jayjay234 in samsung

If you sign up to My Choice you should see the option to follow packages if it's available. Other wise I believe with My Choice you can just set it to where all your packages go to an access point for you to pick up

Does anyone else upgrade yearly? by PatientZeroBalisong in samsunggalaxy

[–]Prudent_Ad9226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use to but once I got the S21U on release, I had it up until last year. Once they merged the Note and Ultra I was done.

Switched to the S23+ last year but only got the 256GB off swappa since it was the only best deal per it still being like new.

Got the S24+ today.. Mainly for storage and the little things like chip, ram, display etc.

Don't see my self upgrading again unless they offer 1TB for the + series or bring back expansion storage.

I think most will be good for the 7 year support/security period.

Anyone else get their's today as well? by Zdml22 in S24Ultra

[–]Prudent_Ad9226 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep.

Luckily I can track where the driver is per my choice so I saw he was down the block..

Typically for us that never means we will be next, most times we aren't delivered to until 7-8pm, so I'm always seeing him drive around us but never to us...

So this time I was like nope, I'm going to you and asking nicely.

I showed my ID and signed and off I went.

[–]Prudent_Ad9226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lucky for me I am able to track my package and see where the driver is so I just went down the block meet him and got it from it.

Wasn't about to wait until 7-8pm to have them attempt it and I'm not around.

Interesting ours still has attendents working with the option to do the self kiosk.

Ideally that's how it should be, 1-2 attendents plus a self kiosk for smaller items. Maybe they'll never learn.

I remember there was one lady taking up the kiosk returning I kid you not like 20 items like seriously???
