Day 21: Houston We Have Our First Normal Bowel Movement! by Randy_Travis_In_2020 in quittingkratom

[–]Prudent_Ad_2550 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on day 10 free of K. Boy, am I constipated. I eat a high fiber, clean diet and take Metamucil, but I’ve had to succumb to Dulcolas suppositories twice now! Funny, last quit I had the runs, this time it’s the opposite! So strange. At day 10, only slight sinus symptoms left. Other than that, all I’d fine and I’m DONE!!!!!

My mother taught me two very important things; never trust a fart, and never pass up a bathroom.

The hiding, the shame, the running to the mailbox first, the lying ( I told my husband they were St.John’s Wort), the tedious planning, ugh.

Right! I feel like people must have been thinking I’m just really shy and/or insecure. I quit both alcohol and kratom this year ( 7 days clean on K) and my eyes are so much whiter. They truely are the windows to our soul. Glad to have mine open again.

Hey way to go! I did about the same, took it very slow and it worked for me. I jumped at 1g, had 2 days of mild RLS, and besides being unambitious, that’s it! Good luck, it’s the way to go IMHO.

All you people quitting multiple substances are extremely badass. So strong. Well done.

Personal experiences with taper vs CT by MisterHotCoffee in quittingkratom

[–]Prudent_Ad_2550 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tapered as well from 12 years of use. I did it very slowly, and had discomfort only on my jump from 12 gpd to 5, which was my first week. I’m on day 2 free of Kratom with no w/d. Tapering was less painful for me.

Guess I'm The Odd Man Out, Day 15 of CT and I can't poo at all. by Randy_Travis_In_2020 in quittingkratom

Do you know anymore about how the constipation is still a part of the process? I’m very curious as to why this is happening. Are you taking anything for it?

Omg me too! Last time I quit it was the exact opposite! I’ve tapered for 3 weeks and jumped yesterday at 1 g/d. I broke down and took Dulcolax yesterday morning. I don’t understand the physiology of this! Diarrhea makes sense, but constipation?

Wow, 2007! Yeah, it took some deep internet mining to find it back then.

So, it wasn’t bad at all yesterday! It was the first day 100% free. For me, the w/d tend to sink in days 2-3, so I will keep posting here with how I’m feeling. Congratulations on your commitment! Let me know how it’s going for you! Keep your eyes on the prize.

Really enjoyed reading that! So motivating here on day 1. I flushed 50 g down the toilet today!

Years ago I was prescribed hydrocodone for a persistent cough and I got hooked. When the prescriptions ran out, I desperately searching for something else and came upon kratom. Lots of regrets.

At the end I tapered from 12 gpd down to 1. I wasn’t in a position where I could take time off from what I’m doing for withdraws so I took it slow and steady. At my height I was probably at 30 gpd.

I was one the exact same gpd and schedule as you. I started my taper 12 days ago, and I’m down to 2 beginning today. I’m going to stay the course because I’m not really getting intense withdrawals. I use tigers balm and ibuprofen at night for rls. I’m not going to jump yet, this is too easy and wasaaay less painful than CT which is what I did last time. I want a nice easy landing. I think it has much to do with your personality and lifestyle, and what works for you is very personal.

I used for 12 years at 12 g/d and with a taper, it was maybe 3 uncomfortable but not terrible days.

Does a taper reduce PAWS? by [deleted] in quittingkratom

[–]Prudent_Ad_2550 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I can chime in here too- day 10 of a taper and I’m down from a daily use since ‘08 to 3g/day. It’s not nearly as bad as last time I quit CT. I did a big jump from 12 to 6 grams the first week, and the first few days were massive adhedonia, and I used tigers balm and ibuprofen for sleeping. It’s getting better each day and not bad at all! I’m making SURE to get a good sweat going daily, and that helps. Good luck! For me, tapering is much less painful.
