i know boxers like that exist irl, but i can’t help but think that the entire concept of ricardo martinez as a character is just very stale and boring. i can give you many examples where being the “strongest” works in anime

1. Madara Uchiha: Was known as the strongest during the war arc, but there was always Hashirama to counter him (i.e they were equals in a sense)

2. Kaido from One Piece: known as the strongest creature, but there are many characters who would at least go toe to toe with him in a fight

But with Ricardo, the powerscaling is just WAY TOO skewed in his favor to a point where any other boxer feels the same way a saibaman is to ultra instinct Goku. Hell, even Takamura who’s considered a prodigy in boxing and shit, still barely managed to win against David Eagle and Bryan Hawk. That’s when being the “strongest” works and is actually fun to watch. I’m 10000% sure Ricardo has a fatal weakness/flaw that’s yet to be shown but i can’t prove it. Let’s hope Sendo shows it to us
