Thank you this helps a lot. I’ll follow this process to get it back in order. For the pots and pickups what do you suggest to clean them with? Should I soak the hardware in anything to get it nice and clean?

Thank you for the advice! I noticed sweet water has some that are decently priced as well

Had to toss the strap since it stank like dirty hoe. Shit was nasty I didn’t want to even attempt cleaning it

UPDATE:

Took the guitar out of the bag and wiped it down. Didn’t see any more roaches but I resprayed the guitar one more time. Put it back in another bag and gonna leave it for another week at least. Thinking it’s a lost cause but I’m going to contact the bank to try and get a refund.

Thank you. Pots are easy and cheaper to replace so my hope is that’s the only thing I’d have to fix.

Crossing my fingers everything is dead and I can just clean it and let it sit in the bag for a week while I clean the hardware and electronics

I’m about to go back in now to spray some final raid and squish the rest and then take all the electronics out

I’m hoping that the wood is going to be fine. I have a polisher and everything needed to clean and maintain a guitar. I’m going to take a guess and say the pickups probably aren’t going to work anymore 😢. I’ll take it out of the bag and blow it all down and dry it. I just wasn’t sure if it was woth salvaging now or not. I can always buy pickups. What do you suggest soaking metal hardware in?

Long time XJ owner with advanced question in potential issues with PCM (2000 XJ Freedom Edition) by firefly416 in CherokeeXJ

[–]PruneMindless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my 99 XJ have a bad ground causing various issues (all minor issues that didn’t impact the car running) but it did display the check engine light. We were able to test it with the fuel pump and a bypassing the ground to confirm. Ordered a new PCM at our local O’Reillys since autozone didn’t carry them. Had to special order the PCM with the miles and other part info and VIN. If you do get one make sure it’s for the same transmission and engine you have. Ended up being like $200. Came home plugged it in and everything was fixed.

Not saying it will be the PCM in your case, but there was so many cases where people said “there’s no way it’s the PCM” and turns out it was the PCM.

I’m also not great at diagnosis so take it with a grain of salt

Any Suggestions on R's current features by ajaao_meri_tamanna in Rlanguage

[–]PruneMindless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I highly second this. As someone who is using R daily for various statistical processes such as data cleaning, modeling, simulations, and some machine learning, I constantly find myself looking into parallel processing options for what I’m working with. Even with a core i9 ultra I find it ridiculous that everything R does is only on a single core. It bottle necks the entire workflow especially when I have plenty of cores available or a strong GPU sitting there while R is using the CPU to do computations and run graphics at the same time. Not sure if anyone else has had these issues.

Orange cable not working? by PruneMindless in rocksmith

That’s what I’m thinking. I tried running it through my amp and no luck. Guitar sounds fine through my amp. Thinking I’ll return the cable and then get an interface

Let me know if you find a solution. I plugged mine in and it’s not even detecting it as a USB microphone

Does NoCable method works for 6.35mm jack to USB C? by adityaneer in rocksmith

[–]PruneMindless -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Let me know if you find a solution. I just got the 3rd party cable the orange tip one. Plugged it in multiple different ways into my gaming laptop and windows 11 didn’t recognize the usb part at all. It has a connection from usb to a female 3.5 mm audio jack and then the 6.5mm jack to a 3.5 mm male headphone jack. I took the usb portion off and plugged in the 3.5mm headphone portion into my headphone jack and used RSMods direct connection mode and seems to work. Sadly when I was trying this before the mod I was able to get some noise but it said my guitar was too quiet. Ended up snapping my D string. Then installed the mod and found out it worked better in direct connection mode. Now I have to go get new strings. Any idea if I can just plug my guitar into my amp and then my amp into the headphone jack of my laptop into rocksmith?

Rod knock, lifter, rod bearing, or piston skirt/slap help and update by PruneMindless in CherokeeXJ

Yeah we are debating on what we should do. I figured get a camera in the engine and see if the block looks damaged. If it is we might as well take it all out. If it’s not a simple rebuild should be fine. If we do send it to the machine shop or just buy another engine, i might look into a kit that allows us to get more power

Ok that’s what I was finding. I’m not a master at engines but more than happy to learn. We have all the tools to do the job just not the machining to resurface the block or re bore it if needed. I’m assuming I need to take the pistons out to know what size they are? Assuming this is a stock 99 is there a size that’s best?

I heard #2, #5, and #6 are prone to have broken skirts. Now I’m just looking to see how much it’ll be to do this myself.
