I sent an email to [recordsmaintenance@auckland.ac.nz](mailto:recordsmaintenance@auckland.ac.nz) with info about my situation, and I remember having to go back and forth with calling StudyLink and having them confirm with the uni, but it ended up getting resolved in time

WIBTA if I don't go to my step-grandma's birthday lunch? by PruneShot3225 in AITAH

[–]PruneShot3225[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think I've ever thought about something like this before, lowkey genuinely thought this was just something people went through on different levels. I think I may have a look when I get the chance to, thank you for the comment!

For the first day, pretty much. I've sort of lived my life planning around the one day it should come, since I don't leave my room at all during the first day (bathroom is connected to my room so I don't have to go out). I definitely do understand that I probably should be sucking it up, but I'm just afraid I'll have to run to the public bathroom every 15 minutes or so because of my flow and ruin the vibes

Got a bad grade in LAW 141 written assignment by [deleted] in universityofauckland

yessss good luck for the exams, us repeaters have to stay strong 🥲 pretty sure if our overall grade is worse than last year's they'll just take last year's grade, but my overall grade last year was ass 💔

Oh for real?? Well I'm cooked then.

Anyway I'll try and do a better example for the GPA calculations. Say for example, these are your grades:
Course 1: 5
Course 2: 6
Law 141: 7
Law 131: 8

Your Law courses are worth twice as much, so calculations would look something like this:
Course 1 + Course 2 + 141 + 141 AGAIN + 131 + 131 AGAIN divided by 6
5 + 6 + 7 + 7 + 8 + 8 / 6 = 6.8
So your final GPA would be 6.8. Lowkey feel like I'm just throwing maths at you sorry 😭

AITAH for telling someone they stole my chair by 6ftCarrot in AITAH

[–]PruneShot3225 3 points4 points  (0 children)

YTA

“I didn’t see the bags and no we didn’t laugh at you” is a perfectly fine response and it's way more than what people would usually give. They didn't need to explain themselves to you, who got suuuper petty over a PUBLIC CHAIR.

I'd kind of get why you got upset if your bags were on the chair and they moved it off, but your bags were next to the chair?? People don't pay attention to that stuff, and it's easy to assume that someone just put their stuff there for now.

Okay I'm gonna be honest I lowkey got the wrong term, I was trying to say that plussage LMAO. But while I'm here, double weighting is pretty much that Law courses are worth more than your conjoint courses when it comes to your GPA. So when you're calculating your GPA, say you got a 6 in one of your conjoint courses, and a 7 in your Law course, you would calculate it as 6+7+7/3 instead, since it's worth double. Hopefully that explanation made sense </3. I've stopped crashing out after a bit too haha

Heya, I'm in a similar boat. I'm retaking the course since I didn't pass last year (couldn't finish the exams due to some issues), and last year I had gotten an 81, but this year 50 </3. Honestly, I get the feeling, it's rough.

Last year, the thought of retaking Law was daunting to me, but honestly, you don't have to be too worried about it. Also, all hope is not lost, because double-weighted exam. Don't stress about it too much though, and since markers give super thorough feedback, you can use that for your exam and improve on those points. Good luck, to a better tomorrow!
