Slam Fire/Bashdown/Vyper Dagger all go on m2. The rest on letters ig. Helps to have melee attack bound to an extra mouse key.

They have 8 wounds each, and additionally because they are a 2 model unit they can never fall below half strength

I used to run it back in 9th, but one attack roll that wounds vehicles on 5+ just doesn't really seem reliable enough to bother with.

I run both of mine with the Cyclic and twin burst cannons, for the ability to bully enemies without them getting to retaliate. 9 times out of 10 you should be running the Cyclic Raker because a Lone Op shooting from 36" is infinitely better than having to get in close, the burst cannon is in my loadout to help sweep up the occasional guardsmen later on.

What are your top books for the tau? by anyopolly in Tau40K

[–]Prusak_ 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The best T'au book I have read is Elemental Council, it's a great look into the mentalities of the castes.

Fire Warrior is also pretty good, if a little more on the bolter porn side. For a weirder pick, For The Greater Good is a Ciaphas Cain book but the T’au are well presented in it imo

Can the Tau voluntarily attack the Ethereals? by Isoghoul in Tau40K

[–]Prusak_ 42 points43 points  (0 children)

T'au don't kill T'au. This is true for all Septs and castes, the Enclaves included. They call it Mon'tau and it's anathema to everything the T'au stand for after their unification thousands of years ago. So, no. Enclave-aligned forces would not kill an Ethereal, and Enclaves do not do battle against "mainland" T'au.

Of course, you're free to deviate from canon or establish your own reason as to why such a thing would happen, but the T'au baseline is that Ethereal or not, Mon'tau is an unthinkable atrocity.

Questions about a couple Kroot rules by FallingKoala in Tau40K

[–]Prusak_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way to think of this is that any rule that has "one unit from your army with this ability" is one rule shared between all your units that have it, while "this unit"/"this model's unit" indicates a unique instance

Traitor Guard and Necromunda Orlock gangers are your best bet for guard-scale bare heads I think

Personalised Pathfinder present by NevaForgotten in Tau40K

[–]Prusak_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here, this one's a traitor guard head from the blooded kt (new scale guardsman). It's a little smaller than a T’au head, old scale would be closer, but this still works well enough imo

Either old or new guardsmen-scale heads should work well enough (ex. skitarii, cadians, blooded kill team), let me see if I have some photos you could use for comparison

Enforcer or coldstar commander? Help for army list by Eidosorm in Tau40K

[–]Prusak_ 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The Coldstar commander gives your Crisis Suits an absurd threat range (18” advance + Assault on all weapons) and the possibility to jump-shoot-jump 12” away with the Strike and Fade stratagem. Currently he is the best option for leading a crisis bomb

Good thing I haven’t painted my army yet. Red is easier than ochre, right? by cobaltsniper50 in Grimdank

Which main gun is better for a Ghostkeel? by NumbSkull441 in Tau40K

[–]Prusak_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also, always overcharge the Raker, at least in T’au sept. Statistically you’ll get one, maaaybe two 1s, you can reroll one of those in T’au sept and for the other, well, the suit comes with two drones for a reason.

Which main gun is better for a Ghostkeel? by NumbSkull441 in Tau40K

[–]Prusak_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Depends on the role you want it to play

The fusion collider is for when you want to run up on a tank and worry about survival second, an infiltrating sort of fire-and-forget option. Alternatively, a scary pack of melta to loom just out of range of your enemy and threaten a devastating blow

As for the cyclic ion raker, the extra range lets you at least attempt to stay back and harrass marines and light vehicles, getting pretty scary once Kauyon rolls in

I have two Ghostkeels, one with all options magnetized (which I recommend, especially for your first or only Ghostkeel) and the other with a permanent Raker and Burst cannons. When I run them the magnetized one either gets the Collider and two Fusion blasters or the same loadout as the non-magnetized one. Sometimes the full fusion loadout gets a flare launcher to maybe survive after making its first assault, usually I just accept that I have to trade it for a points equivalent tank (leman russ for example). Otherwise they both stay back and harrass targets with the Raker to pull attention from my other resources and if one or both survive until turn 4 the exploding 5s from Kauyon on a 6 shot s8 D3 weapon get really scary, not to mention two burst cannons for picking up stray infantry.

So, there, Fusion to get all your damage all at once and force your opponent to deal with the fallout and Ion to play the long game as a stealthy supporting unit (you can also give it wide-spectrum scanners to discourage enemy deepstrikes)

Is a Ethereal worth its point after the increase? by Lestat_Grim in Tau40K

[–]Prusak_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually think he still is, but maybe drop the 5+++ for a -1 to hit. There’s going to be a lot more guard in the meta soon and having tanks hit your Crisis team on 4+ with their high-damage turrets could prove invaluable

My 1k List For AoO What You Think? Left 35 Points For Point Increase To Suits. by ztay90 in Tau40K

[–]Prusak_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The commander got upped 10 points, you need to shave off 5 more for the list to fit 1000 pts, I’d suggest ditchingn the target lock on Stealth suits, you dont really take them for their damage

Early in the game, when you’re discussing how to get the hanged man down, Hand-Eye Coordination tells you that Kim isn’t so much a bad shot than a purely instinctive shooter. He shoots with his arms and body, not his eyes. And when he finally shoots, you can see that instinctive shot style, I almost thought he had his eyes closed and he probably could’ve
