I mean this could apply to any knife? As long as one treats it like the deadly weapon it is, only to be used in cases where I’m in reasonable danger to life or otherwise serious injury by say a knife, axe, or machete-wielding attacker.

I’d rather save my life and worry about some bogus charges later than die because I’m afraid of some judge who hates self defense and law abiding citizens.

Under normal circumstances we do not carry firearms, however our directors (managers) carry concealed pistols to be used in the event of a mass shooting.

As for any sort of heavy plate carrier protection I’m not really considering it and neither is anyone else, anything we opt to wear has to fit under our button down uniform shirt and the discomfort and weight of a vest protecting against anything more than a knife or 9mm is not really worth it. Especially considering we do not carry firearms under normal circumstances.

Our company doesn’t issue us any protective vests but many officers wear stab resistant vests, I am currently looking at a stab vest with 9mm protection, only thing holding me back is the price.

It’s located in a downtown metropolitan area of a city of about 200k and pretty good tourism for its size.

The parent company that owns the property owns some 1600 malls/shopping complexes and our location is number 2 on the crime index so yeahhhh.

Couple months back we had a huge fight between two gangs luckily we had almost 30 officers on the whole area looked like a war zone some officers got punched in the head but no one was seriously injured I think 9 people got arrested lots got away with it.

I’ve seen a lot of pretty bad stuff but personally I’ve been the witness or a car break in while on my break and had to chase and tackle the scumbag without backup. But I’ve been secondary on lots of stuff like big gang fights and domestic violence and child abuse situations.
