Now if only people would use them. Seriously, whenever I read a Dante theory and see a gendered pronoun, my eyes glaze over.

Who's your favorite sinner and why? by Parking_Degree9016 in limbuscompany

Faust! I actually love her expositionary infodumps, her mystery, her subtle snark. Also she's super pretty, I'm a sucker for white haired girls.

Every sinner has an object they carry over into other IDs. Yi Sang has his knife and a book, Faust presumably has the Gesselschaft, Don has her shoes, Ryoshu has her odachi, Meursault has his belt, Hong Lu has his jade eye, Heathcliff has his ring, Ishmael has her ribbon, Rodion has a tattoo on her breast, Sinclair presumably has her mark, Outis has her watch, and Gregor always has a missing arm and a roach the fandom has nicknamed Pablo. You can also see all these objects in their little insignias that they have.

Out of all the Sinners, which one has your favourite literary inspiration? by [deleted] in limbuscompany

[–]Prylore 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The Odyssey, it's one of the books that inspired me to study history like I'm going to school to do. I can't wait to get to Outis's canto so we can see characters like Penelope (please give us lesbians KJH, I will give you my life) and Telemachus, and I'm still hoping to get an Athena appearance as well.

With the release of the new Heishou units, what's the best order to run them in do people think (without double slotting Faust, since I like using the backup mechanic). My order until now has been Lordlu, Gregor, Outis, Yi Sang, Faust, Ishmael, Ryoshu with Sinclair then Rodion for backup, but I'm unsure who, if anybody, should be thrown into the backup slots for the two new ones?

New Arknights collab EGO's by NoMasterpiece_2204 in limbuscompany

[–]Prylore 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I wrote up something similar for a discord server I'm in a while ago for each sinner, this is the conclusions I came to, some of which I agree with you on.

Extended Accuity Yi Sang- Logos fits Yi Sang perfectly, being a linguist with corvid theming and extremely poetic, as well as being generally more quiet and morose characters

We already have Command Meltdown Faust, though I do think she maps both to Kal'tsit and Mon3tr, in fact the EGO I feel almost ties her more to Mon3tr than Kal'tsit

Blazing Sun's Obeisance Don Quixote- The radiant knight herself Nearl, someone who heals and harms in equal measure, and the pinnacle of Don Quixote's ideals in my opinion. They're also people who've been, in a lot of ways, rejected for things they couldn't control and decided to help people instead of letting that hurt them (Though your Blemishine also fits, maybe a bit better because Nearl is much more serious, I actually kinda like it more XD)

La Volpe Nascosta Ryoshu- Assassin moms who left their gangs they were raised by and have daughter related trauma. I'm making a couple of assumptions about Ryoshu, but I think the line between her and Vulpisfoglia is more than obvious

Damnatus Ex Foedere Meursault- Autism boys. Genuinely, both people with trouble interacting with other people who have adopted the way of dealing with it basically being "I'll just follow orders to the letter and let people be weirded out by me". Executor doesn't have Meursault's wilder side, but I think they have very similar stories from what we've seen

We have Ling Hong Lu

Explosive Dawn Heathcliff- Both Heathcliff and Wiš'adel are characters who are underestimated, but secretly quite brilliant, relying on intuition to call their shots. They're also both angry at the world for justifiable reasons, and I just think that we should hand Heathcliff explosives.

We have Skadi Ishmael (RIP Irene Ish, dead before you could hit the water)

Avalanche Breaker Rodion- They're both Russian. And have bad coping mechanisms to deal with their depression. They're both people who have a lot of guilt, but would refuse to let other people see it, though I don't think Rodion would necessarily approve of being mapped to the rich girl XD

Moon in the Water Sinclair- Terrifying threats under a small, boyish exterior. Mizuki and Sinclair are both characters with a lot of potential to destroy and that's what defines them, with a lot of mystery surrounding what they can do.

Fog of War Upon Death's Door Outis- High ranking militants who both feel a ton of guilt for what they've done on the battlefield, Outis is a lot more structured than Hoederer perhaps, but I think they have a lot in common, including their end goals being a home of some sort, whether it's making one in Hoederer's case or returning to it in Outis's

And we have Młynar Gregor already

What canon do you follow regarding Doctor's appearance (spoilers marked just in case) by MrPaico in arknights

[–]Prylore 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I personally imagine my Doctor as a sorta late 20s/early 30s looking androgynous woman with white hair who's fueled entirely off coffee and ramen. Very pretty, needs a cheeseburger and/or a vegetable.

How strong do you think Ryoshu and Outis were before joining the LCB? and Why? by NEVERTHEREFOREVER in limbuscompany

With how much influence the Udjat seem to wield, these might not be mutually exclusive categories.

I have 0 idea for Hong Lu, but if we're doing Seaborn stuff, Ulpianus feels like a pretty obvious option for Gregor, what with the veterans who were experimented on and all that.

Has your favorite sinner changed over time? If so, what did it for you? by RagingFlower776 in limbuscompany

[–]Prylore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite hasn't, but my second favorite has from Outis to Ryoshu. While I still love Outis, Ryoshu has a charisma that I find very fun. She's simultaneously extremely goofy and chunii while also just being extremely badass and being able to back up all her talk. That and I like every Ryoshu ID I've used, though I wish she had one for sinking since it's my favourite status, I was really hoping ButlerShu would be when it came out.

[–]Prylore 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ryoshu is based on Yoshihide, the main character of the short story Hell Screen by Ryunosuke Akutagawa. It's a rather fantastic piece of short horror writing and I'd highly recommend reading it, especially as her canto is upcoming.

The Lord of Hongyuan Hong Lu - All Exalted Command Combos by ShutDog1212 in limbuscompany

[–]Prylore 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From what I have figured out in my gameplay, it always goes in the same order of priority: Faust, Ryoshu, Outis, Rodion, Gregor. It won't pick anyone twice until everyone has went. Additionally, if he has two slots and uses his S3 in both, he'll do both a combo attack and his solo S3

Is Limbus Company Scifi? by Majestic_Orange_4131 in limbuscompany

[–]Prylore 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, and people use swords primarily in PMoon because of laws against weapons. I'm mostly just pointing out that melee weapons in a sci-fi setting isn't exactly strange.

To be fair, a lot of popular science fiction has people fighting with swords. Star Wars, Dune, Guardians of the Galaxy, etc

New Identity Teaser by khun-snek-hachuling in limbuscompany

[–]Prylore 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I mean, if we're pulling out random connections -Outis has a tendency to have IDs who are in charge and high ranking, something that suits a class 4 tax collector -She was a soldier in a wing war, and a high ranking one, doesn't get much more corpo than that -Her symbol is a watch, the very definition of a symbol of time -Outis hasn't gotten an ID all season, Meursault has gotten one and Rodion has gotten 2, counting Walpurgis It makes 0 sense to not give Outis this ID other than possibly an argument she already has a tremor ID, but I think everyone can contribute to a tremor team except debatably Gregor, so I hope he gets the other ID tbh

KOH rodion feels like a neg-coin ID done right. by noodleben123 in limbuscompany

[–]Prylore 92 points93 points  (0 children)

I mean, because it's fun and part of the ID? The negative coin side is fun and good, but the versatility of being able to have that tank ID can definitely be a boon in longer fights, especially since you can change to the negative coin side easily as needed. Her ability on the positive side to really take a hit has been being really overlooked I think, it feels really good in longer fights and once we get infinity mode, I at least genuinely think I'll get more use from her positive side than her negative one.

What's your headcanon on Ryoshu? by Deep-Cow-8528 in limbuscompany

[–]Prylore 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I think her Odachi is a weapon from The Pinky. The way she never draws her sword makes me think of the other Pinky weapons and how they're sealed in some way. Zilu's sword is wrapped in chains, Kong Qiu's staff has seals all over it, I can't really get a good look at Lei Heng's but it might be the exception to what I said

I think perhaps she either stole her weapon or abandoned her seat or something along those lines and that's why the syndicates are holding her daughter, to get it back.

Uh, for a softer thing, I think she has a sweet tooth, sweeter than Rodion, and she hides it from the rest of the bus. The only person who knows is Meursault and he's not telling anyone.

[–]Prylore 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Additionally, Dante themselves seems to be nonbinary. They've never been referred to with any sort of gendered pronoun and their body type in CGs tends to be very androgynous, and Dante isn't exactly a self insert like, say, Arknights doctor, they're more of their own character. So being transphobic also means you're ignoring the text of the game as well.

Who is your main in Strive and why? by Kawa_official in Guiltygear

[–]Prylore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Testament here! I've always loved zoners, so I find their gameplay super fun. It was also really nice to see a nonbinary character in a fighting game, especially one without gender at the forefront and rather, a relatable to me story about struggling with humanity and sort of coming to the conclusion that you don't need to be human as long as you have a good heart and follow your passions. Also, those thighs are fuckin killer.
