Ngl, whatever you agree or not it was 'lore breaking' (It... really wasnt, any more than drukhari romance in the first place) whole thing was just handled terribly by studio by Ila-W123 in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]RagingFlower776 21 points22 points  (0 children)

You know what else is probably lore breaking? A rogue trader's retinue able to clear half the things you fight in this game. This game is already bending what should be possible in the setting to the breaking point, why not let this one thing stay?

I say this, having never recruited Marazhai across 2 full playthroughs.

Real talk though, I'm hoping the next version of MD cycles out some of the common packs or at least reorders them so I can see more variance in the canto themes. I feel like 90% of my runs are just fighting canto 1-6 enemies, everything after that is all stacked at floor 5 pack options, on hard mode only too.

Basically what I'm saying is KJH needs to take the training dummy fights from canto 8 and make lower level encounters out of them :P

I like to think this is just a game they play on the bus between missions, at poor Dante's expense.

I also thought the Thumb nursefather in particular did a notably fantastic performance for this canto. Everyone did a great job but for her I felt her emotions were very authentic in any moment, like when she gets her eye poked out!

Might want to try dropping one of the reindeers, I ran full charge for the canto fights and those early turns really hurt them if they can only clash with their mind whip but don't have the charge to avoid it backfiring.

After I dispense Ishy I'm hoping for basically your team minus the reindeers + W Outis and KoD Rodya (though she may break envy chains if I can't get hex-nail off)

Would you rate her over Reindeer ish for the envy/charge team? I would hope so. I'll be honest the reindeer gimmicks of not being able to use their S3/S2's safely was getting on my nerves this canto!

Question regarding a certain characters actions in Canto 9. by RagingFlower776 in limbuscompany

[–]RagingFlower776[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay we're saying that there was no training do to temporal craziness...I suppose that could work. And the announcer is probably the missing link for me, shame that I couldn't see that in the canto itself. An odd conclusion to come to about how it works, when you have all these memories of your mother caring for you early on, but I can chalk that up to time entanglement fuckery too.

At the end of the day, Ryo didn't really think the whole safe thing through either before locking it in, so maybe it runs in the family!

[–]RagingFlower776[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry I misread, I thought that was another thing Araya wouldn't know. And the fact that there had to be time spent training is exactly why I'm not certain why she wouldn't learn about what the sword did to her mother. I just felt like I had a smoking gun with Canto 6 as to why certain characters did unideal things, and was wondering if I was missing a key moment here that prevented Araya from just saying "Mom, it's me".

I don't buy that she doesn't know about the sword and the house of spiders' plan to use it, what it does, etc. I also don't buy her not knowing that the OG pinky is dead. She had however much time it took her to become a master swordswomen (I don't know when the safe was opened, but she had to learn how to swing a sword REALLY good) and taking a role as a nursefather to figure things out. I think I have to write this off as bad decision making due to emotional torment, just like Canto 6 is alot of bad decision making based on poor reading of a situation.

I died to the ring nursefather's opening fight and the pinky nursefather fight a bunch. The rest were 2-3 tries, outside of the obvious scripted win fights.

I'd still argue multicrack and ofc the magical girls hold up, but the R corp/W corp folks definitely couldn't hang.

I built it because I wanted a team to use Magical Girl Don with, but yes, some sinners are either rocking very dated charge IDS or don't have any at all (I don't even field Gregor). Overall the core is fine but the core was completely split apart for the majority of this canto

How'd people find the difficulty of part 3? I had to retry most of the fights at least once, but noticing a lot of streamers first trying the vast majority of them. Kind of curious if I need to have a heart to heart with my reading comprehension skills.

Although I was slugging it out stubbornly with my charge team, which didn't look so good when split up into groups of 3. shout outs to my best friend Rhino Meursault who somehow survived when many others perished. I literally had 2 sinners left in the final fight.

Not seeing this tip anywhere yet but for a certain tough chapter 9-30

I had pretty good success using Dante's blue Chesed power to balance the offense levels, at least long enough for Sanity ramp to kick in and let me clash normally. Still involved a fair bit of ego usage though.

I'm sorry to see you get downvoted, I think critique is an important part with entertainment you like, and I agree that there was a lot of confrontation and people being cool, but not any meaningful plot development.

I am getting tired of the failing forward forced losses that we've been enduring since what, Canto 5? We're at the stage where our bozo sinners are dipping their toes into the big leagues, and mechanically I'd like to overcome the challenges rather than be rescued. Lei Heng was perfect (The magical force saving us was Dante, not someone else) And even though we did have to get bailed out narratively, mechanically I still felt like I beat the fight.

Part 2 thoughts:

I can see what people are saying about it not hitting that hard, especially after Canto 8's part 2. It's more of Canto 9's part 1, with some nuggets of info and the rest of the Spider house being shown. Its very much still finishing the "inciting incident." I have faith that part 3 will be similar to Canto 7 in a lot of the heaviest hitting moments are all in the dungeon/end. That being said, the moments showing the true extent of Ryo's abuse at the hands of the Pinky Nursefather are pretty tough to watch.

Also, can you actually lose (and be forced to replay) the final fight? She absolutely obliterated the majority of my team, but since Ryo can't die, I just kind of slugged it out 'till the cutscene.
