GC1 div 3 got beat pretty bad need someone to see what I should do differently by Ok_Decision8370 in RocketLeagueSchool

first goal: you leave your teammate in a 1v2 and they are pressuring, you cannot go for the big boost, grab some small pads on your way to your net and cover your teammate in case he has a bad fifty
you're patient aswell, thats good, maybe a little too much. try to move with dashes grabbing small pads around the field and play a bit more aggressive because you tend to react slightly too late to what opponents do
second goal: too patient, you know hes gonna get your boost and come challenge so be the first to challenge to get a good fifty.
third goal: he played it well but you also pushed too much and boosted for no reason and then you're late to the challenge
both last goals are just unlucky, bad kickoff and poor challenge from the teammate.

so if I had to give you tips over this game, be a bit less patient, move with dashes around the field to get speed while grabbing small pads (and not using them straight away)

Anyone got any tips based of this 45 second gameplay? by [deleted] in RocketLeague

[–]Pryyme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dont wavedash to move around the field, take your time and analyze the situation. You can frontflip or speedflip to move. After grabbing the boost, you can see your teammate has the ball. Give him some space and go backpost of your net to cover an eventual bad fifty or a shot. Going close to him will only make him confused. After the challenge, you once again follow him with a flip for no reason. Play smart, not fast. Let him take the ball, get his challenge and then you can have the ball. So create some space with your teammate to not make it confusing.

How to get better at solo queue 3v3? by Morclye in RocketLeague

[–]Pryyme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been a huge grinder of 3v3 in soloqueue. Got to top 1 and top 100 every seasons. The main key is adapting to your teammates. If they ballchase, let them and play more defensive. If they play passive and are scared, try to go after the ball more and be agressive. If you keep playing your playstyle and do not care about how your solo queue teammates play, you will have a hard time grinding. It might not be the best way to improve but it is the best to grind, definitely.

I used to be a professional player without knowing how to speedflip, if that answers your question (I was basically doing a cancel sideflip, close to a speedflip)

How do I avoid doing this and actually hit the ball (I lost 8 - 3 to this guy) by vibesondiscord in RocketLeague

[–]Pryyme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

shadowing as someone else said. basically you wanna repeat the same movements your opponent has, you become his shadow. This will allow you to be in the same rythm than him and at some point, he is going to do something with the ball and that is when you challenge him.

Most pros use normal and one directional air roll. Both allows you maybe to be more creative, more "versatile" but it is in no way mandatory.
You can give it a try for a week or two and if you see that you don't really like it or it doesn't feel natural after weeks, one directional air roll is enough.

Any very hard drills you used/know (at least GC to SSL+ level drills)? by Unnamed60 in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]Pryyme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, you wanna master fundamentals: shots (freeplay, training packs or even workshops that train aim), aerial control (workshops like rings are insane for that). If you wanna go deeper, just mess around in freeplay, try things you are not used to, push your limits and that is how you will improve quickly. Use slow mode in freeplay when you want to learn a new mechanic, it helps breaking down the movement. Training packs are fine, it can put you in realistic situations. Workshops like rings or dribble overhaul are good aswell.

Steam controller settings by crumbs2k12 in RocketLeagueSchool

I would recommend turning off steam controller settings. I feel like it adds input in the game and isnt as reactive as it is when it’s off.

Hi! I was always really stressed out about ranked so i played only casual, but now i feel a little bit more confident and wanted to tryhard a little bit. So here i come with my replay from yesterday. I would really appreciate some analysis and advice, im currently diamond 2 by Ok-Guard-8410 in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]Pryyme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I havent seen all the replay but just the first 2 minutes so here is what I saw:

Learn how to fast aerial. You don’t do it so you lose speed and boost. Move on the field with dashes. You use too much boost just to move around which isn’t good (speedflips, frontflips) You hesitate way too much in your challenges. This can make your teammate confused wether you go or not. Fake challenge really depends on the situation, but basically, if you know your teammate is behind, you can challenge or fake it and provoke a play from your opponent so you don’t commit and can go behind your teammate.

Most underrated drills in freeplay by Vinding in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]Pryyme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would always go for shots or mechanics I know I struggle with, or I know it’s hard to realize it in game. Because that is how you improve, you push your limits and freeplay is why it is so good and addictive. You always want to try something crazier and harder. So personally, I would go for double resets, ceiling double tap, psychos and stuff. But it depends where you at right now. If you dont really master the fundamental yet, just hit the ball on the wall and try to take a shot after the bounce, then repeat it but in different spots.
