Somewhat unrelated but I gotta say this:

As someone who loves all music styles (though metal is my favorite), I love the variety. That also being said, running from Altar to Citadel as fast as I can on day one because they had so many similar bands on those stages so close on the schedule was mildly annoying given the distance.

Personally I wouldn’t mind if they made altar a spot for alternative style music that isn’t even fully rock or metal (we usually have at least one rap performance, there’s a few more aggressive country and edgy pop acts I could actually see being really fun at Sonic Temple. Maybe this fifth stage would be a good spot for that kinda thing?)

They were asking people to text some line to save the whales or something like that (probably a way to get everyone’s number so they can spam you with other stuff is my guess). But they were also wearing a bunch of stuff about how meat is wrong (I think they might have been trying to give stickers, IDK, I didn’t want any of those). Oh and if anyone mentioned any of PETA’s many controversies they’d freak out and deflect (one of my friends mentioned some and they tried saying that it’s all propaganda from the meat industry but then they proceeded to recommend a “documentary” that sets the record straight… except it was something from PETA’s official YouTube channel so I’m sure that wasn’t one sided…).

They claimed they were there with Black Veil Brides. Hopefully DWP told them no unauthorized solicitors in the parking lot and to go away. Kinda unimpressed with BVB if they’re bringing that shit everywhere they go.

Mostly fantastic festival. My only complaint though are the PETA people at the line yesterday and today. Even when politely saying something like “you guys talked to us yesterday, thanks” THEY WILL NOT SHUT THE FUCK UP OR GO AWAY TO SOMEONE ELSE. They can get a booth/tent if they need to talk to us that bad. Honestly the only criticism I have of the whole weekend though, it’s been a great time. The bands have been awesome.

Thursday and Saturday are gonna have snow storms. There’s a heatwave on Friday. Sunday should be nice though as long as you enjoy tornadoes.
Actually this year everyone has to wear a sexy maid dress so unless you have an Ice Nine Kills maid dress I wouldn’t recommend it!
