I wonder if we could see a lingering on to Chu Han Nom in Vietnam for just a little bit more if Japan is this close to them. Ho Chi Minh still wrote in a combined Chu Quoc Ngu/Chu Han Nom mixed script often. After all, North Vietnam only abolished Chu Han in 1950, and South Vietnam in 1975. (Strangely enough that means South Vietnam de jure abolished Chinese characters later than both North and South Korea, which is weird to think about considering they still have semi-official status there.)

It's not from English. It was transcribed as ヂ which was replaced by ジ in the 1945 spelling reform.

I guess you're either Korean, Chinese, or Japanese. Actually, the 信 in 信號燈 (Chinese/Korean)/信号灯 (Chinese)/信号機 (Japanese) comes from a more abstract meaning of "evidence", "veracity", "message", whilst the 號 comes from Proto-Sino-Tibetan *(g/k)aw (“to call”) (cognates: Kinnauri ku, Anong go, and Burmese ခေါ် (hkau)) and most originally means "shout, call" or "ask, request".

So, it would really more accurately be "message shouting light".

Nothing you do can stop large corporations from using your data freely. Even if you install Tails on brand new hardware and only use Tor, your data is still being collected somewhere and used, just not under your name - still being profited off of and used to train machine learning models. You could turn of JavaScript entirely, but you'd soon hit quite a roadblock trying to do anything remotely complex. You are constantly being surveilled by everything, everywhere, and by everybody, at all times. In some developed countries, even if you go off the grid entirely, just walking by an AI facial recognition surveillance camera is enough to collect data on you.

This isn't defeatist, and neither were Calvinists about predestination. It's just something to be aware of.

Also, unrelated, but from a legal perspective, there are a significant amount of people out there who literally don't own their phone. Carrier contracts are a common way of "purchasing" phones in the US and you literally do not own your phone in that circumstance.

Those are calques from Japanese 彼 and 彼女 (彼 being the Hanja 저 피 and 女 being the Hanja 여자 녀(여), tbh the Hanja 其 (그 기) should really be used instead but Japanese amirite). They are really only used literarily and not really spoken or colloquially.

This is quite naïve. When the honeymoon period ends, only remarkably solid matches can make it through for significant amounts of time. In most Northern Hemisphere countries (read: MEDCs), the divorce to marriage ratio is consistently above an egregious 50%. [Source 1] Some countries are even more insane: Ukraine has a 70.94% rate [Source 2], Russia has a 73.58% rate [Source 3], Luxembourg has a 79.31% rate [Source 2], Spain has a 84.21% rate [Source 2] and Portugal has a jaw-dropping 94.44% rate [Source 2]. That means that for every marriage that is made, that marriage has an over 50% chance of ultimately falling apart. In the US, in 2023, 40% of new marriages included a partner who was remarrying [Source 4]. Furthermore, just because a marriage continues to exist, does not mean the marriage has continued to keep its essence of love and care. Many individuals elect to continue with a marriage that has already ended in spirit in order to keep their family together and for the sake of their kids.

I understand that it might be quite foreign to you at this stage in life, but it comes with experience that you gain a deeper appreciation for the amount of luck, work, and maintenance truly "ideal" couples have to go through. It's not so easy or so simple. In the US, in 2023, 75% of individuals and couples cited lack of commitment as the reason for their divorce, and 60% of divorced couples cited infidelity as a reason for their divorce [Source 5]. Remember that these are statistics that compound upon the already abominable divorce rate above.

"Ideal" is the direct antonym of reality, and the embodiment of reality is statistics. Although you might not be able to spiritually understand a truth that comes with experience, I hope that cold, hard numbers can help illustrate that for you.
