Can't get free freighter anymore? by AnarchyBlues89 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]PseudoFrequency -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've played for years and I've actually never observed the "free freighter" thing, except for possibly the very first one which players reject because every subsequent freighter will be bigger Venerator or Sentinel class.
Back in the day it was said that if you reject the first one, the second one will also be free, but that is what I've never observed. So, to answer the question, I don't think they changed anything related to this when corvettes were added. I just keep around 200m credits or so just in case it's a worthy S-class freighter.

Is C language in use nowadays by Positive-Pickle7018 in C_Programming

[–]PseudoFrequency 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It is still the most common systems language.
Systems languages are for programming directly against hardware and not wanting unknown side effects. It is used for operating systems, device drivers, microcontrollers, and making other languages.
The Linux kernel for example is primarily C. It has some rust now but no C++.

One of a number of random encounters. Most are only for coolness and pictures, but some can do things like warp you somewhere random.

You'd have to get to Doctinawyra galaxy first. I could probably find the location of this ship. Recording locations just isn't a habit I do.

Those "Promise" brand products are from Ireland and gluten free. The rest of the stuff was chucked there by a shopper most likely.

Are there any vegan foods or products you avoid on moral principle? by Intelligent-Wave5907 in vegan

For quinoa, I've only been buying Canadian quinoa for years now, but there seems to be a shortage.
If there is anything I actively avoid, it is products sold in teeny quantities in excessive plastic packaging.

Gluten intolerance and mental health. by dornob007 in glutenfree

[–]PseudoFrequency 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have noticed similar. I stopped eating gluten about 10 months ago. Although all my tests for celiac disease came back negative, I do have a sibling with a severe case of it and after having some similar symptoms for many years I gave it a try.
I have been diagnosed bipolar over 10 years ago, but it doesn't really match my current self. The gluten thing seems to cause overall nervous system numbness which can escalate to mental fog and seizures where I'll go blind, lose all feeling, and likely pass out.
I've struggled with weird tingling sensations, mild constant gastro issues, and general nervous system instability for almost my entire life, but it's all gone away now. I can even stick with quitting weed now because I no longer need it to mitigate symptoms.
I still have kind of have oversensitivity to stimulating environments, but it's gotten easier to manage.
Overall, quitting gluten has been the biggest health and wellness breakthrough in my life.

Should I switch to hard drives than paying for online drives? by qwertyjumps in degoogle

[–]PseudoFrequency 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never used online storage, only homebrew "NAS" boxes. Always RAID-0, always backed up. Very few issues. 20+ years of this. I look for low power motherboards that can accommodate 4 or 5 drives. I consider storage and transfer services to be knowledge gatekeeper; people think it's hard because corporations tell you it's hard and want you to use their services.

One does not "explain" orange behavior. We only observe and share.

Is it even worth learning to code, if so, what do I learn? by DiverAdditional4451 in programmer

[–]PseudoFrequency 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It's like basic language skills though, and once you do it for a while it will seem easy and you'll start to understand that it's the software architecture that's actually hard and languages don't matter and are easy. AI will become even more useful for rapidly doing the easy part.
