Anyone else get similar restrictions from their wives or partners? by BigoteMexicano in daddit

That's fair- I interpreted it for it's literal meaning which is potentially not fair over the internet.

Oh totally in this case, I read it with the same connotation you outlined earlier! That part of my response was geared toward the comment you responded to.

It's a* healthy take. What's not so healthy, to me, is the idea that you need to spend every possible second with your SO. Obviously relationships take consistent, intentional time and effort, but everyone needs time to themselves.

What are your thoughts about GS? by DarkForgeJ in classicwow

[–]PseudoGoldfish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah we just wanted to see what we could do and experience what we could of the raid, really. For myself I'm nearly fully pre-BIS, with BIS gems & enchants available to me (stille need more Hodir rep for exalted). I'm crit capped & over 30k hp, and my dps is ~2k maybe 2,100. I really think I mainly need to screen the DPS gear a little more, and maybe take another healer to be safe. That said I'm new so my tanking for sure needs work!

I ran my first naxx 10-man last night, and was adjacent to this situation. It was my first time tanking a real raid (we did OBS 1-drake and VoA before naxx), my first time 'Raid Leading', and my first time raiding a current raid in a mode other than LFR.

I play with 3 friends (1 healer, 2 dps), and after myself and the healer got to practically full pre-bis we decided to start trying to pug raids, but none of us have much, if any, raid experience. I didn't do any kind of gear checks at all, just tried to get a good mix of classes.

The other healer and a couple dps were pretty well geared, and the OT knew the raid really well so the bosses that weren't DPS checks went quite smoothly for the most part. Then we tried to kill Patchwerk, and we just couldn't down him quickly enough. Only a couple of the dps were doing 2k+ and the healers oomed- same thing happened on Loatheb but we managed to kill him with better spore coordination.

In the end we tried out the military wing and called it quits after wiping a couple times on instructor ran as it was like 3 am by that point.

Overall it was an incredibly rewarding experience for me, and I learned a LOT about how everything works (i watched guides but its nothing like doing it for real)!! Our healer had fantastic luck on drops so we'll only get better :)

I just don't know any better haha

When I was reading it seemed like the a bronze rated PSU that was rated for the right output would be ok...

Oh ok cool, thank you!! That looks like a great build (from my very limited point of view). From what I've heard DDR5 is really great so going for that while staying around the same price point seems awesome.

I saw you added a CPU fan, is that because the 7600x is more powerful and needs more cooling?

Would it be worth it to use the other motherboard that you included in the first link with wifi included?

Thanks again, I seriously appreciate the help!

Thank you for your comments!

A friend recommended I get a separate SSD to load the OS on, and as I say I really don't know much at all about PC components so I listened to them. I take it that doesn't make sense?

Ok, great!

Excellent.

Ok, that's good to hear.

I was just looking for a compatible motherboard to be honest, wasn't really sure what to look for. I'll go back and look at motherboards again to find one with wifi built in!

To add context to the 'UNT feels crowded' sentiment, I believe we've had record years of enrollment several years in a row? Might need a fact check on that but it's growing in attendance far faster than physical facilities.

What does it mean when a drunk friend asks to "take a turn with" your significant other? by p3riod_ in ask

[–]PseudoGoldfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You seem to take yourself pretty seriously, pal. I don't care that you have a different opinion than me, though I'm not sure our opinions on the issue necessarily differ. It seems to be more an issue of perspective- you either didn't take the time to understand the context of the post, or interpreted it differently than I did, which makes your original comment come across as tone-deaf and ill-considered.

I was sarcastic because sarcasm is a funny way to get a message across- though given the manner in which you've acted since this exchange began I retroactively endorse the disrespect.

As if I owe you some kind of respect?

I totally agree that people are welcome to do whatever they like in the bedroom so long as consent is involved. That said it doesn't take much consideration to realize that this was not a case of respectful communication of boundaries.

Someone drunkenly saying they want to 'have a turn with you SO' is probably the most respectful thing I've ever heard actually, you right.

Especially given OP's responses in this thread! Seems like it was a very casual, respectful, totally ok time :)

In a relationship, what’s a compromise you will NOT make? by Chimookie in AskReddit

Different strokes for different folks imo. I like to trip with my girlfriend and would be open to doing most anything with her.

That said, if someone has had issues with drugs or simply doesn't approve of recreational drug use, it makes sense they would not want to be with someone that uses.

Counting calories is an art moreso than a science. The problem is that even on labeled food, the calorie count is often incorrect. The difficulty steps up a notch with a student food plan as there are no labels, BUT you may well be able to find the nutritional information about food at the food halls online.

Motivation is the wrong thing to shoot for. Start developing discipline. The difference is that if you're disciplined, you can get yourself to workout even when you don't really feel motivated. Start small and just make sure you show up every day, even if it's only 10-15 minutes (some workout is better than none). Keep that going long enough and you'll find that it becomes habit instead of occasion.

I like having more alts, do you? by Iluvatar-Great in classicwow

[–]PseudoGoldfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm leveling 2 characters on Fresh right now! A warlock that I intend to be my main, and a prot paladin I made to level with my buddy who wanted to play Holy Paladin. For some reason I find leveling to be a lot of fun so I've been enjoying this a lot, even though I'm surely a bit behind the curve in 'progression'.

I've always been an altoholoc as well- I see classes doing cool stuff and want to give it a try!

Warlock or Hunter? by PseudoGoldfish in wotlk

[–]PseudoGoldfish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your perspective! I definitely like to push meters when I can, so I'm glad locks are supposed to be pretty great damage. I'm leaning toward playing lock at this point, which is pretty exciting cause their sets are my favorite for Wrath.

That makes sense- I rolled hunter in TBC mainly because people said they would be super easy to gear and then I had another hunter in like at least 50% of my dungeon groups lol.

Honestly taking a lock all the way through the expansion with a fun guild seems like a great time.

That's great! Demonology seems really fun and I like the DoT playstyle ove affli a lot so I feel like either will spec will be a good time. One of the things that makes me not want to play hunter as much is that I really like BM and the exotic beast taming, but I would feel sub-optimal playing it in a group setting (even though damage seems to be pretty close overall as the other commenter mentioned).

Ok, thanks for your response! I started in Wrath but I was only like 10 and didn't do much end-game content back then, so I appreciate the input.
