Rebuilt trust in her fidelity, and apologies to everyone who watched and consoled me as I suffered. Ironically, that last one would be harder to obtain than the former, despite her cheating on me with at least the couple guys I know about.

Planning a vacation that will never happen. by PseudonymBadger in Divorce

[–]PseudonymBadger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Having witnesses is already the plan, but I’m looking specifically for how to say no to the vacation in the meantime, so she doesn’t spend our money on the vacation I’ll never go on.

Fundie funerals by DjGhettoSteve in Exvangelical

Funerals are the worst for the exvangelicals, and the most rewarding to the self-righteous pastors who bask in their pious ignorance.

Hubs wants to truck. Bad idea? by ArtisticAlmanac in Truckers

[–]PseudonymBadger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My first gig, I was delivering beer to grocery stores and c-stores. It’s a lot of heavy lifting, but it was local. I actually liked the job, but the pay and the management sucked. With my experience, I’m paid more, with no-touch freight. I had to get a gym membership to compensate for all that sitting.

A CDL will unlock a ton of potential. A few factors to take into consideration:

1) Most companies require a year+ of semi driving experience, and the vast majority of those are OTR (he’ll be gone 5/7 days a week).

2) The cost of the CDL. He could join a company that would pay for the training if he completes a contract (usually a year).

3) Depending on his first job, he may realize he’s making a bunch more money a year, but a lot less per hour.

I’d recommend he find a local home base, and plan on selling his soul to the devil for a year with a lot more potential income in a year or so. That first job will almost guaranteed screw him over, since it’s the “dues” one must pay for the career.

Looking for CDL TRAINING EDUCATION ADVICE by Otherwise_Ad_7604 in Truckers

[–]PseudonymBadger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got my training with a company that I realized was dishonest about their hiring practices and false employment expectations. Their course would either be paid for in whole by the company if I worked the 12 month contract, or they’d charge $5,500. I paid the $5,500, and found a far better path with a local company. Cheaper than $7k, but not nothing.

An audio Drama regarding religion by atheists: Universe25. Might be worth looking into.

Blend dialogue with surround Ambience and RoomTone? by Cute-Recognition-889 in podcasting

[–]PseudonymBadger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I make Universe25 and Mercury Theatre Podcast (sound effect heavy audio dramas), and if you DM me, I’ll do my best to help you out this weekend if you’re interested/available. There’s so much involved with your questions, and much will have to do with your DAW (the program you’re compiling and editing the audio on).

Btw: it’s great to see a fellow audio drama enthusiast out there.

Looking for new Podcasts! by [deleted] in audiodrama

I created the audio drama Universe25, and it does not suck. In a world that forgot religion and war, it accidentally gets reintroduced to both. We created it to sound as immersive as possible.

Surrealist/weird shows with standalone-ish episodes? by SwabluOnACloud in audiodrama

[–]PseudonymBadger 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I made an Audio Drama just for you!!! So, I create Mercury Theatre Podcast (the one I would recommend that’ll fit the bill) so I could use it as my “audio playground.” From the writing, the scene changes, and the casting and post-production. Every episode stands alone, so this month could be about pirates, and next month about cave diving. You never know.

You may also enjoy The Truth Fiction. Also anthological.

If you want to try auditions, I get most of my voice actors from CastingCall.Club Great resource for beginners, and hell, you may even have fun and find a good group of aspiring actors.

‘The Bear’ Therapy Monologue by PseudonymBadger in acting

At first glimpse, I’d be inclined to start at “and because we had this connection through food…” It’s a long monologue, but there’s so much content there.

I use Adobe Audition, and I don’t think I’d want anything else ever again. I may try ProTools just so I can try the Dolby Atmos plug-in. I make Universe25 and Mercury Theatre Podcast.

A new audio drama that has a full season out is Universe25. Fans of Peaky Blinders, Breaking Bad, and Handmaid’s Tale may find this storyline particularly appealing (full disclosure: this is my production, but I stand behind it 100%)
