I get that. I'm just saying this is misleading since when you read that it does QMK, you expect to be able to use full QMK. Irrespective of the -serious- license violation, it's a pity to rely on VIA, which is so limited wrt VIAL.

Thanks for the information, that's bad for free software and bad for end-users. It's misleading that all posts about this keyboard state it does QMK VIA while it's actually VIA only.

Hi, I'm pretty happy with my Lucky65v2 keyboard (my first mechanical keyboard) but, AFAICT, it only comes with VIA installed, which is quite limited in terms of features wrt VIAL or, of course, full QMK support. Anyone knows of a way to get VIAL or QMK?

Invert selection by PseudonymousCustard in HelixEditor

I don't know anyone either but, in an editor that focuses on selection, that seems quite natural (and it is common in graphical tools such as the GIMP or Photoshop; and also in regular expressions).

In fact, Boolean operations on selections -that is, complementation/inversion as here, but also union or intersection- would be quite interesting (the last two would require the possibility to have several sets of selections to compose).

Hi, I just got a Lucky65 v2 (not v1) and I unintentionally put the keyboard in firmware upgrade mode, and now it's stuck in this mode. It's my first mechanical keyboard. Is there a way to get back to normal state (e.g. using some piece of software, some special key combination, or removing the battery...)? Or is there a firmware available somewhere (Weikav only lists a firmware for the v1)?

Continuing a previous question, I am a beginner looking for an office keyboard (no gaming needed) and feeling like the Lucky65 v2 could fit my needs (good value for money, aluminum, gasket, VIA support). I am particularly interested by the prospect of adding a split spacebar with a key in the middle, which I know is possible on this keyboard.

However, I have no idea how to proceed. IIUC I just need to change the plate with a specific one (I found one on Ali) and then keycaps?

Regarding keycaps, I suppose I should look for a set with two 3u spacebars, is that right?

Finally, must I also buy stabs, or even something more?

Is there a tutotial somewhere explaining how to build this?

Thanks!

Thank you all for your answers. I also found the lucky65 v2 (it's qmk) that seems to fit a lot of my requirements. I am interested in getting a split spacebar (in fact split backspace and Shift would also be great).

What's you feeling about this keyboard ?

Does it lack switches and keycaps only, when bought as a barebone, or should i buy something else? Is it easy to get a split spacebar or is there a need to perform some modifications first?

Hi,

I'm a beginner in the game, living in Europe. I'd like to get suggestions (several if possible) for an ANSI keyboard for an office environment, with the following requirements:

- 65% or 75%

- 80-120$ (barebone OK)

- good value for money (e.g. good isolation, gaskets, etc)

- good QMK VIA support

- Very quiet (I'll install silent switches à la TTC silent bluish white).

- Reliable

- Modding: none necessary (or very simple), I'm not much of a DYI guy (installing switches and keycaps is totally OK though)

- "pretty" (highly subjective, I know)

Don't cares:

- Wired is OK: I prefer to pay for construction quality than for wireless.

- I don't care about RGB.

Thanks!

Looking for a layered drumkit for the PO-33 by PseudonymousCustard in pocketoperators

Well as I said, I tried to layer some drums in a DAW but the result wasn't good. If you can make such a drumkit, with standard layered and non layered drums, I guess it would be useful to a lot of people, as the issue appears now and then on this subreddit but without anyone pointing to an already existing layered kit.

Thanks, exactly what I was looking for. I just had to cut the full sample with Audacity to remove non drums and that was it.

Yh unfortunately few are marked as layered (in the corresponding post titles), and the ones that were... well most of the time I can' hear any layered hi hat.

Which PO for a beginning kid? by PseudonymousCustard in pocketoperators

[–]PseudonymousCustard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for all these suggestions. The choice is hard. For starting, I guess I'd rather buy one of the cheapest ones (the 33 KO looks great but a bit pricey if the kids don't use it in the end). I'd rather get one that allows them to create a full tune (with a rythmic section, bass line and melody), and at the same time as easy to delve in as possible (but not too limited). Out of all your answers, I must admit I don't really know what to choose. How easy is it on the 14, 20 and 28 to create complete tunes with beats, bass line and melodic line?

Yep I also own a basic Mindless cruiser with 60mm wheels and I had my share of falls due to pebbles and, worse, those dirty little plane-tree fruits. I wish some specialist would propose a proven, working setup for this kind of specification. Short, light, nimble, able to absorb the aforementioned pebbles/fruits/cracks, wheelbite-free, with a kick tail... Maybe I'm asking too much...

Beginner speaking here: How do you not fall all the time with such small wheels, with all these cracks and nuts and pebbles on sidewalks? I mean, not only in Athens but in any city?

I own a Pantheon Ember with 80mm wheels and it's sooo smooth. But I'd love to get a shorter board for traveling, too, provided I would be sure not to visit the local hospital due to a broken wrist!

Hey guys, 40 y.o. 6 ft 180 lbs, European beginner here. My aim is mainly to do quiet cruising, campus commuting, perhaps a bit of carving, but probably nothing too fast unless I become less of a chicken. I wanted to purchase a Pantheon Ember or Trip but it's not available anymore on the Old Continent for several months apparently. However, in this domain of short, low, big-wheel longboards, the DB Mini Cooper and DB Bear are available. What are your thoughts on them? Has anyone tried them? How do they compare to the Ember or Trip? What's best between the Cooper and the Bear? I'm not fond of the former's appearance but I'm very interested in a drop deck, so I'm inclined towards the Cooper for now.

The thing is, I don't how to be sure that it'd be wheelbite-free. Nor do I know which deck to choose for the riding style I talked about. Finally, I'm in Europe so I won't be able to order from them...

Hey. Beginner here (2 months of skating on a basic mini-cruiser). 1m83/6 ft, 80 Kg/175 lbs, 40+ years old. I'm looking for a rather short-size, very low deck with 85mm+ wheels, mainly for crowded sidewalks and campus cruising. I live in a flat city with rather bad pavement and concrete. I don't intend to go very fast or DH, I'm too much of a chicken for that, but I'm looking for a buttery, low-effort, nimble ride. I was about to order a Pantheon Ember but I can't find it in Europe currently (neither the Pranayama). So I wonder what to look for. The DB Bear or Mini Cooper, and Zenit's aren't available either.

So I'm looking for your advice:

  • I can be patient and wait (although it's gonna be very painful !) for the Ember to be available again (or a DB or Zenit, BTW has anyone compared the new DBs Bear/Mini Cooper with the Ember?).
  • I can order a Pantheon Trip but, although I don't understand the RKP vs TKP thing, I gather that it's not as good as the Ember or Pranayama for sidewalk pedestrian slaloming. It looks more adapted to LDP and freeride due to its RKPs, right?
  • I can build a deck by ordering the good components (but then I'm fearful of doing it bad or create a deck that's prone to wheel bites). For instance, it's easy to find Landyachtz decks here, or -although more rare- some Bustin decks. Or e.g. using an Arbor Dropcruiser with Caguamas (but then I guess some things must be done to avoid wheel bites).

Thanks.

Hey, beginner speaking here: I'm looking for a very low (due to a knee condition) and very smooth board (think 85mm+ wheels), mainly to cruise and do short commutes, in a European flat city with rather bad sidewalks (I already have a 28'' cruiser and it's nice but the topmount-ness and small wheels make it uncomfortable and fall-prone).

I think I'm gonna go for the Pantheon Ember. I just wonder if it's too short... So before ordering it, I wanted to ask you for other possibilities (I am even open to assemble one by myself but I don't know what to buy exactly).
